Hi guys, I know its amazing to share our art, get some feedback, etc, but since we have seen so many indie games in development don't you feel afraid someone can just steal your sprites and use in their games?
If that happens, what would you do if the person refuses to pay you for them or refuses to remove your work from their games? I am not a great artist so it takes me a looong time to make nice sprites, so it would make me really sad if I found out someone using my work like this. So I would like to know your opinion Sorry if I wrote something wrong, english is not my first language. Thank you. |

I think what would help prevent such scenario would be making it clear that the art you are posting is yours with a copyright notice of some kind, and maybe display a specific license if you're allowing usage under certain terms (Creative Commons, for example.) Pixel Joint already displays a "All pixel art copyrights are retained by the pixel artists." note in the site's footer, not sure if making that more visible would help. Hope that helps :) |
