Hello!
The Project I'm working on a 2d stealth game inspired by Gunpoint, Mark of the Ninja and Deadbolt. I have developed most game mechanics and I have a playable prototype of what I imagine the final experience to play like. This is the situation: the core gameplay already works and just needs some finishing touches. The way the game is designed, it's possible to create many levels quickly and in theory this prototype could evolve into a full game just by creating new levels, without the need of further development or art. This is really interesting since it means that the project could go in many directions in the future. The game still has no story, theme, setting. I have many ideas, but if we partner up we can take these decision together. The plan I'm looking for a pixel artist that wants to help me do a makeover of this prototype and transform into something like a vertical slice. From that milestone I'll try to understand what are the next steps (make a full game, find a publisher, crowdfunding, release it as is, etc). The commitment on your part would be to help me reach this milestone, but we can discuss different things if you want a different kind of involvement. I have no plans yet of monetising this at the moment, but in the future I might. We can discuss some sort of revenue sharing agreement to ensure that you get rewarded in case the project evolves in something more at a later date. What can you expect: * The core of the gameplay already exists and you can play it right now to see if it's a game you would enjoy. * Complete game design document to explain what this is about and to guide further development. * I know what I'm doing and I won't leave this project half way, this will be released in a form we can be proud of and that you can put on your portfolio. * I work mainly on weekends and my free time. * There's no much room for experimentation on the core mechanics, but a lot of freedom in level design, setting, theme, etc. What I'm looking for: * Someone who's good at pixel art and also animating it! * Willing to dedicate some time in the next months to this game to reach this milestone. At the time the prototype uses just these assets, a makeover could be completed just by creating the following: 1 tileset 1 animated player sprite (idle, walk, unsheat/sheat weapon, attack, die, fall, enter/exit, interact) 1 animated enemy sprite (idle, walk, startled walk, die, fall, attack) 5 prop sprites 1 background image w/ parallax (4 layers) Depending on how much you want to get involved in the project, some more assets could be required if we want to go more wild with the game setting/story. About me: I'm a developer with a background in marketing and product management. I have delivered many product to the market (board games w/ Kickstarter, mobile apps), this is my new pet project and you can rest assured it will be published in some form that we can be proud of and that will look good on your portfolio. The prototype: I have nothing publicly uploaded yet since it's all with prototype art, but I'll gladly send you the prototype if you want to try it and see if it's a game you would enjoy.
