I never did play the sequel, though. I think that's cause I had to buy it, and didn't want to, and didn't feel like stealing it.

One sweet, oldschool rpg. Technically it's a dungeon crawler or something? The only thing comparable that's even close to today's market would be Diablo (one, not two) where you descend levels and fight monsters on your way. The difference is Castle of the Winds doesn't have sweet graphics but does have a lot of cool little features and stuff and stuff.

Actually CotW was pretty weak compared to most roguelikes I've played. ADOM [ancient mysteries of domain IIRC] is probably my favorite :D. pwning S's with my @ all day

Dude, I fricking HATE the ones with ascii graphics. My character is SO MUCH MORE than an @ symbol. I mean, in castle of the winds you have manly pecks and no shirt on. It doesn't get much better that that.

BUT the ones with textual graphics tend to have more features, like spells and alignment and stuff. But they're boring and I don't like them.

sab, I feel they leave alot more to the imagination. I can get into those way better than graphical ones. Torneko the last hope for ps1 was pretty awesome, though. dragon crystal for sega master system is still one of my favorites.

in other news, something I threw together while learning gfx2;
