Hello all!

I`m new to your forum so I`d just like to start off by saying 'hi' and also how cool it was to stumble upon this website!

I`ve been drawing pixel art for over 15 years and I`m currently an artist at Creative Assembly.

I`ll post some of my past pixel art creations soon but, for the mean time, here's a little challenge myself and my mates set ourselves.

'Can you draw a Streetfighter character in 32X32 pixels?'

Here's my attempt (it's been doubled in size so you can see it more clearly).

(I hope this has worked!!)

I`ve had a route through my folio and I`ve found a few pieces of Deluxe Paint pixel work my brother and I drew during the good old Amiga days.

This picture, from what I can remember, took us 24 hours to draw. All done in deluxe paint pixel for pixel (no photoshop in those days ya see).

I`ve blown up the picture to 3 times its original size so you can see it better. I can't believe how low res the old amiga was in those days - even in hi-res mode (which is what this picture was drawn in).

15 years of pixelling and you still save as jpeg :O

but that aside the little buddy is quite cute.

oh and btw no need to double size it, since the forum has a zoom in feature.. jus click on it and it will zoom .

You're right. Hehe! I should know better. My poor old pixel piccy's are going through a real bashing in that format Thankfully, I do have them uncompressed, Jpg are just nice and small to quickly down/upload.

Here's another piece of artwork my bruv and I drew back in the old amiga days.
It was for a shoot 'em 'up game we were designing called 'Stunner'. We had a demo up and running but, due to the quick decline of the amiga game market, it never got complete.

Now THAT'S going back some. I`ll see if I can dig it out. It might mean a trip to the attic for that one.

Hmm. Nice fighter sprites. Perhaps if you wish to show more of your own work, you should make a personal thread in the WIP or general sections to show them off. Seeing as i imagined this was more of a collaboration, is this for everyone or just you and your friends? I think it's best this is moved to the WIP section if it's not a full-on community collab, just so no one is confused.

lalala? hehe

Why don't you post the stuff in the gallery?  I mean, if it's your older pictures, and not WIP then there's no need for a wip thread.. you see? but your gallery is empty!! so show us all your stuff there ^___^

Man, for some reason i completely forgot about the gallery. I was like 'hmm, where can he show his completed images? oh i know! wip section!' lol. >.<

The portrait would have to be a gif without the jpegging and the text at the bottom.. no offence but i find it quite suspicious.

Actually looking at it I can see your point, alas trust me, that's D-painted pixel for pixel, I remember going around to thier place whilst they were doing it, no Photoshop in those days my friend.  I remember they hated doing the hair

As I mentioned before I`ve been in the game industry for 15 years. In that time I`ve worked on over 30 games. This was drawn pixel for pixel and was the biggest and most challenging picture my brother and I ever took on using Dpaint.
We had to endure 24 hours of hi-res flickering to produce it so, if you feel it's a photo, then that's the ultimate compliment for which I thank you

Don't think i'm jealous, atall. Yes, it does look like a touched up photograph. Well done.

Would it be possible to get a response from this?

I'm sorry but you really need to save your images as gifs. Your colour count is way too high for these images. Suspision is high and if you wish to have anything accepted into the gallery on the main site, you will have to prove your skills in the forums here by showing you work in progress from start to finish.

I likewise am suspicious. No offence intended but... my gut is saying this one guy, two accounts. But I could be wrong.

The IP adresses are logged, it should be no problem to tell. With the proximity of the posts, he'd be hard pressed to go to a different computer.

Personally, I think alot of this stuff, especially the "God Bless This Child" pic, is too good to be true.

Thanks for all your comments. You are all completely right about the whole .jpg thing and also being a little suspicious of the GBTC picture.
Alas these were drawn over 10 years ago and I`m finding it difficult digging out the wips for all the pictures so I`m not sure I can ever prove it was pixel draw. Oh well, leasson learnt.

On a positive note, this has given me a right kick up the bottom to start doing some fresh new pixel art and, as a result, I`ve started drawing a new picture.

I`ll post a wip animation link on here soon.
