I think you should make the blood drips look like blood drips and not just lines.

Maybe making it less straight, making them run with the form of the heart. I think that's what he meant.

I think that you should also do lines for dithering instead of checkers, and the color of the blood should be the same with each drop. I agree with Wannahlakujuu and Souly, the blood should move with the contours of the heart. The blood should also look like blood. Blood doesn't just get very thin before the end.
