Hey guys, was directed to this site about a week ago from a pal in the game industry. Me and a large team have been in the process of putting a 2D MMORPG together. Its the same angled view as Chrono Trigger.

Just recently our lead artist had some very serious family problems he had to deal with. So as of now he is on leave; I'm only the assistant artist. We are on a strict deadline of making it ready by Christmas 2006. We've been working on it for 7 years now and its almost complete, but with Matt (Lead artist) gone we are looking at some bumpy terrain ahead.
 
I came here to ask you guys if anyone would be willing to work on our team. It's a great game and we have awsome designers, a great guy that works on the autopatcher, and also some outstanding programmers. Its an online 2D MMORPG.
 
We arn't trying to have a game the size of WoW, our goal is around 10,000 players. We just want to honor our 2D roots. Everyone on the team feels that 2D games can be just as fun as any 3D game, and so far ours is looking that way.
 
If you want to be on the team, you will play for free forever, along with the other royalties that come along side helping out on such a serious project while we are in desperate need. If you are willing to help and dont want to be on the team, thats also fine. I understand that people dont want to be pressured to do things or have deadlines, but you will definately be posted in the credits of the game for your time and effort.
 
Right now what we need are a few things to be ready for beta.
 
1. Beach tileset. (Sand, palm trees, anything like that)
2. Trees & Plantlife.
3. Hot lava & hot lava waterfall.
4. ANY & ALL monsters you can think of.
 
The game engine is custom coded and uses its very own scripting language based off of C++, and we use 32x32 pixels per tile.
 
I really appreciate anyone who even took the time to read this lengthy post, and especially anyone who decides they have enough time in their day to help me and the team out with this.

wow..look man I dont know sh*t about "art" I just love doing it..I dont know all the technical aspects. lol

More on the game....

Very very indepth, very balanced. Perfect class system, AMAZING coding. The 2 head coders are outstanding, the lead programer has been working on this game for 9 years. He has made other games in the mean time, so dont be discouraged. This is definately not his first, but this is for sure his finest work ever. The team works well together.
 
We are in the process right now of finding a business lawyer right now to give us some projected numbers on what it will cost to get our limited liability corporation started.
 
Once you are on the team you will be given a free account, and have access to things normal players do not. If you show us you are a very hard worker, and put forth a substantial amount of effort, you may be paid for the work you do. This we will discuss with anyone who is interested in a meeting with the rest of the team.
 
The community of the game itself is completely player run. Kings and queens are actually elected like president. Any player can run for any possition. There is a great "war" system. Nations can go to war and have huge battles without even needing the Game masters to log in and adjust anything. The GM's are strictly there to make sure players are not cheating, or breaking any rules. We also make sure that there is always something fun going on, like an event around Holloween, Easter, or Christmas time.
 
I hope this interests at least 1 or 2 artists, because right now our graphics department is lackign due to the lead artist Matt being away.
 
Anyway, here is a few screen shots of the game. (Some things are not in yet like shadows.) Alot of the screen shots will look like the trees are floating. Once the game is ready for beta we will place in direct3D shadowing under the trees and other objects like walls.
