I just finished a piece but I cant get it to look like I want it, when ever I compile/export to .gif it gets messed up.

This is what I get when using Animation shop

It's close to what I want, but the colors are abit of.
Now I know Animation shop does this that is why I try to use Image Ready, but with this pic Image Ready makes it look like this

(the eyes I changed manualy though)
So here the colors are right.
But with Image Ready the green lights get all ditherd and loos the AA I've given them.

Anyone know how I can have both right colors and the AA I make?

Animation Shop never really gave me any problems with the colours. When you save as a gif, you could try clicking the 'Customize...' button instead of just using the slider. This way you should get some more control over how many colours it should use.

Also, I'm moving this to Resources and Support where it belongs.

It's right there for me, after clicking 'Save as...' and choosing where to save. If it's not there, you might have a different version... I have 3.05.

In ImageReady make sure that your output options are set to:
Selective (for mode)
None (for dithering)
GIF (I find too much color shifting using PNG-8)

Oops,  sorry, I thought you were taling about Image ready.
In Animation shop, Yes I allways customize, never use just the slide.
But animation shop allways mess witht he colors, but just a little.

jalonso:
image Ready don't do well with animated .png
and I cant find them options.
That's just it, when optimizing an animation through image ready I can't find any options, at all.

Animationshop saving tactics

Customize
COLOURS tag.
-255 colours
-create palette by Optimized Octree
-reduce colours by Nearest Colour (pixel art only)
There may be selections with the other tags effecting it also... but that should work fine.

In ImageReady you'll need to open a 'pallete window' its called settings or output. Then use the advanced view if the window shws limited items. Its all there. On a mac its next to the filters drop down menu. I don't know about the PC.

w00t, it works!

Under the window menu I found "window -> optimize" and there I could change the options I needed.
Still thinks it bugger that you don't make them options when saving, anyhow I'm super glad it works and I'm very thankful for the help.
