I had some extra time today... ![]() Just a quickie. It looked kinda similar to Helm's 'YUS!' character, so i decided this one is his confused brother. ;) I got lazy near the end with the background and such, but it works for what it is. C+C is allways appreciated. |

Colourful. Lovely dithering, though I can't help but think working the dithering to help imply feathers would be more interesting. Still, each to his own...
The background is quite flat, reminds me of a puppet show . Maybe working the blue sky to have some kind of lighting influence on the dark foliage would add a bit of dynamic to it...all depends one how much time you're willing to put into it though.I'm probably blabbering...damn Beck's... EDIT: Oh, also I dont like the relatively low saturation of the main blue in the background. Edited by EyeCraft - 24 October 2006 at 3:47am |

I really like this piece - it has a very real meda texture to it. I agree that the trees look a little flat, though maybe that was your intention? It doesn't look bad, just... flat. I think from an aesthetic stand point, I'd prefer them to have a little bit of depth. I actually do like the colour of the sky the way it is. I don't find it too dark.
You have this major hue shift in the shading on the bird's feathers that really isn't carried to any other part of your image, aside from the touches of purple outline on the trees. I'd either add some purple to the shadows on other parts of the image, or change the purple to a more reddish shade. |
