First of I want you to know this is in Adobe ImageReady cs2.
I have a problem with an animation that use trancparacy. When it goes through the animation each frame just gets drawn over the old frame, insted of replacing it. So when at frame 5 you can still see frame 1, 2, 3 and 4 showing behind frame 5. This happens when I save it as a .gif. Of course the most frustrating thing is that I used ImageReady when making my "Sonic Idle stance" animation -> http://pixeljoint.com/pixelart/14457.htm Were this problem do not occur. My wish is of course to know were I choose this option, I am thankful for any help. I know this is a problem people must have encounterd before me, but with the search I found no thread on the subject, still if there is one pleace post a link. |

I've had this happen from time to time. Its either the program memory (clear history, quit, re-start, trash the program prefs if using a mac), or you have left the layers "on" when you added the new frames. I can see no other possibility.

It's not that I have left the layers visible, it's not like that in the
.psd format. It's when I save as optimized .gif file that it happens.
This has happend to me in other programs to, but it has allways been kind of random if it happens or not. I know Gimp can control it and I just hope ImageReady can too. Well I'll try to kill the program and restart it to see if it that helps. |

I see. What I meant was that once ou have started the ImageReady file as you compose each frame (highlight) Photoshop can still "light up" the underlaying layers. This happens. If all fails save create a whole new IR file from the PS orig. assuring that only the revelant fle is highlighted in both at the same time (this may work slightly different in the PC version)

i have this problem constantly with cs2 when editing an already existing animation with a transparent background. no matter what i do i always get the same problem... my solution is to set undo history to 999, work with the image in only photoshop or only imageready (in cs2, i use photoshop to animate rather than imageready), and save the PSD of the animation... thats probably why i have 4 gigs of PSDs, but i could show you an animation from one of the first versions of imageready :P

Gif has two 'disposal method's : replace, and combine. I assume you are just choosing the wrong one (it's probably set to combine by default.)
