I'm about finished with another game and I'm not quite sure how to call this game. It is sort of like an arena shmup but the scoring is not traditional and players can steal and hold points. You fight up to 20 opponents at once and they are all intelligent and have matched skills. You need to collect the green glyphs and shoot down as many enemy craft as possible. When shot, a player looses all glyphs so don't hesitate to kill an enemy with a high glyph count.
Enemy Kill-100pts Glyph pickup-15 pts Z or space fires, arrow left/right change cruzing angle and up/down change speed for tight or loose turns. If you die press R to restart. This needs a title screen and player stats screen but the gameplay is mostly intact. If you have time in your schedule, please try it and tell me what you think good and bad. If you have any ideas for scoring or level progression don't make yourself a stranger! OLD VERSION:

Whoo, highscore of 1480. Very fun and I like the ship trails a lot. Something I don't like so much, though, is the control setup. Though having different buttons for accelerate and decelerate is more in accordance with physics, it seems a bit clunky to me. Maybe have an option for the up arrow to be thrusters and speed to slowly decrease when it's released?
The pickups look much nicer now compared to the old versoin. I don't like the fact that the pickups don't really give you any benefit after you pick them up, though. I was thinking you could make the score for each kill be multiplied by 1+(magic multiplier number*the number of pickups you have) maybe?
As said in the pool, a windowed option would be nice.

Great game! I liked it immensely, it was challenging (which is good) and simple the graphics were stylish!

:O
Well done, P_O, this game's quite fun!
I noticed that the little dot in the middle of your ship goes green once you pick a glyph up, and yet it doesn't seem to change anythin'. Just as a thought, if they were to increase your max speed or the distance you can shoot (within reason) it'd... nevermind, this game is awesome as it is.
I totally want to play against real people.

Well the reason for the green dot is simple ALL the ships are exactly the same so like the other players when you pick up a glyph you show you have one. I wrote some "young peoples' " music for it and added some stuff here and there. I tried disco but it just didn't fit like the funkytechnohouse.
Playing against real folk was something I wanted to do but online game programming REALLY scares me. I barely know how to operate my computation box and it's sound emitters on the sides.
