OK so I was finally able to procure a Wii after 5 days of checking Shopko.
It's nice that Nintendo included a party game with the console even if it is a bit sub par. The first thing that struck me about the Wii is the physical size. It's only supposed to e the size of 3 stacked DVD cases. Also it's not ugly textured plastic, it has a nice smooth glossy finish. The Wii may be played vertical or horizontal which is nice. Nintendo also made a great decision-to let gamecube players play their old games with the original cube controllers and memory cards. Wii itself has mini SD memory cards (like in your camera) and has a good sized internal memory. There is some online community that I'm too poor to look into. I haven't tested the virtual console system-it requires the online service. Now for the controller. The controller fits the hand very well in my opinion. It's precision is very accurate. If you have used a Guncon think along those lines only a much wider range thanks to a TV mounted sensor. The nunchuck is a sort of add on for the controller that allows for 2 more buttons and a joypad I believe that the nunchuck has positional sensors as well. I've just been playing the Wii Sports game they included and it does a good job showing off the controller. Moving things in three dimensions is quite fun and very natural. It's a GREAT value for the price and developers are really embracing the technology most of the release titles are outstanding.
I don't think this will be the blunder that the Nintendo 64 or Virtual Boy were.

I bought Zelda for it earlier today and I will say that it has a great and unique feel to it. The new character designs are done by the same artist that did the Ocarina of Time and Majoras Mask. Zelda is quite the dish. ![]() Edited by Pixel_Outlaw - 30 December 2006 at 6:28pm |

That sounds great. As soon as they write an emu for it I'll get that. By then there should be wiimote adapters for the pc and they should be cheap on ebay.
BTW, the pool needs you.

I've been playing a friend's Wii for the past few weeks and I freaking love it. Excite Truck, Rayman and Wii Sports are lots of fun and really take advantage of the controller.

PO What's your Wii Code? Mine is 8479 3888 9178 3122. We should consolidate everyone's codes into one list. I also quite like the feature which allows you to email people from your Wii.
