story time guys

back in 2004 i was at one point on holiday at melbourne with my mum. Anyway we decided to go to the zoo there all day which was really kickass, in the evening we went to the lions exhibit where they were about to be fed

the exhibit had this massive f**king mesh wire fence around it, and at one end of the exhibit was this bridge for everyone to view the lions there from above, anyway the lions were in their own cages or something before let out into the exhibit since some guy was hiding meat around the thing

i wasnt standing on the bridge like everyone else but i was on the ground standing right next to this tall hippie dude with long hair and a jacket. Anyway the lions were let out everyone was like whoa woo

suddenly, seconds after the lions were relased the hippie started to climb the fence, i thought he was just going to take a photo or something but no he wasnt

the zookeepers shouted out to him but he just was like screw you. then he got into the exhibit, held up this book and facing everyone said "ok any parents cover your childrens eyes, i am going to pet the lions "

this wasnt some thing you see on 4chan or something, irl this was enough to scare the sh*t out of everyone, even me. I immediately tried to walk away and look at the badger exhibit next to the lion exhibit while everyone was like OH MY GOD SECURITY OGMGGKJFDHKJFHFHD

5 mins later i go back to check and the guy is convinced to get out so he climbs back up the fence, almost falls off at the top but gets out anyway. afterwards everyone was cleared from the bridge and near the exhibit etc and a bunch of people were so happy to film it they were bragging to random strangers about selling it to news channels but jesus christ ive seen like one or two vids of it and dont have me in it so im really pissed off about that

i now have a plushie lion to commemorate this epic event

edit: later on that night/tomorrow i found out the guy was an rspca nut, coincidentally the night before there was some documentary about how lions were treated in the roman coliseum back in ancient times
