I have to login every time I open PJ. It sucks. The forums let me logged on, though.

Anyway, the cookie seems to stop working 15 minutes after I leave the website. When I return, I get this error: "Error: Invalid login/password combination."

Anyone else is having this problem?

I was thinking it could be the fact my username starts with a number, and since I seem to be the only person with such a thing here then I'd probably be the only person suffering from this problem as well.

Btw, I'm using Opera 8.0

If it's a code bug, it might be a good idea to look for it in profile.asp first (the page I bookmarked)... I think it could also be some SQL thing, depending on how things work here.

But if it's really an issue with the number at the start, then is it possible to just rename my username to Lucas?

Thanks

It's definitely a cookie issue.  I'll download Opera and create a similar username and see if I can get it worked out.

I'm having the same issue using internet explorer. I did something cheeky when i signed up and called myself -Akira (back when we needed 6 characters) so thats probably the problem.

Then it's probably a first character thing

Any chance of encoding it on the cookie, sedge? If you MIME it or something you wouldn't have to change much, I think.

Dang, didn't run into it when I created the account... I'm going to give it a hard look today.

I've been having login problems, myself....this is the first time I've actually been able to post!

I kept getting login errors, despite allowing a cookie override for this site, among other attempted fixes (damned IE).  In the end, I had to delete all previous cookies, empty my cache, set my privacy settings to allow all cookies, then restart my browser and login here first.  Hopefully I can login again in the future...

nvision: Are you having problems with forum or with gallery or both?

I will be working on autologin for the gallery site over the next couple of days.... cookies are such a bitch to deal with sometimes.  I'm changing the encryption, the error handling and the SQLSafe function too so hopefully that will clear everything up.

Could you please be as specific as you can as to the nature of your login problem?

Most login problems are caused from the client side.

Follow these steps and it SHOULD resolve it:
  1. Close your browser.
  2. Disconnect from the internet or disable your connection.
  3. Open the browser, be sure to stay DISCONNECTED.
  4. Clear cookies, cache, and all temporary files.
  5. Close the browser.
  6. Then try again.
If that doesn't solve the problem, then it is most likely a server side issue.

As long as you are not on the site that is giving you problems you should be able to just clear your cookies and reopen your browser.  I've never had to disconnect from internet for anything.

It is just an extra safe step I have my clients take, making sure that every possible cookie is erased in case there was somehow some conflict.

I see what you mean, but that would only be an issue if the site causing the cookie issue is the default browser page.
