First game beaten: Sonic The Hedgehog (Megadrive)
Most inspiring game: Gameboy Camera; it had a little music editor and a paint programme, two things which I went on to persue.
Also the
first 2 sets of Pokémon games, playing those made me realise that we live in a world full of pokemon, except we call them 'animals' and they're amazing.

This is a good thread to keep going. I'm the worst gamer in the history of games according to myself so my games beaten will look sad...

First game: Duck Hunt, Duck Hunt, and more Duck Hunt
First game beaten: I've played so many and won so few that I can just name all of them, the first being Pac-man 20th anniversary for Playstation. Then Banjo Tooie for N64, Kirby's Dreamland 2 for Gameboy, almost got through Loz:oot and with windwaker I was even closer, and recently Carmen Sandiego: Secret of the Stolen Drums for Gamecube; if you can't beat that one in less time than me you shouldn't be playing video games ever because it is the easiest one ever made. Man, I didn't realize how many child-oriented games I play.
Most inspiring game: While I'd love to say all the Legend of Zelda games and I just did say that, the one that really inspired me was Mario Paint for SNES. That game made me know what those little squares were for and I learned that you could change them. I didn't have a computer when that came out, and I bought it brand new so I was excited. It made me know I wanted to do art instead of become a doctor. But as bad as my pixel art is I probably should be a doctor...

all you guys need to get your heads out of your asses.  I enjoyed that game, and surely people who play it for extended periods of time do too, so wtf is the problem. geez.  Hell if I had more time to put into it' I'd still play it.

I'm not saying nobody else can have their opinion, but the general consensus is that it's a weak game and inhabited by n00bs of the worst order. There are other RPGs that have everything Runescape has but a smaller n00b population, but unfortunately almost all of those are subscription-based and cost money.

I'll admit, for the sake of the argument, that I DID try runescape. I didn't enjoy it. There were graphics that were, in my opinion, simply dismal, gameplay that was uninspired and boring, an unintuitive interface, and too much "walk here and hope you don't hit an impassible wall on the way then walk back" in the way of quests.

You say that those who play it for extended periods like it. I'd have to agree. No human would do something for a long time if they didn't enjoy it or any of its consequences. But what I'm saying is that most people who aren't n00bs DON'T like it, and thus playing is associated with n00bdom. At any rate, it isn't mainstream on the web for someone who isn't a n00b to admit to playing runescape.

RPG is numberwang.

And I'm not a noob, I'm lvl 60ish or something around there. whatever. it just annoys me that's all.
