My friend and I want a website to host all the games/programs we make. Tell me what you think. I went to a translator website, and was typing in random words. When I found something cool, I just shortened it. So now I have Atemn Studios. The 'A' can be long or short, and either the 'm' or the 'n' can be silent. I like it, I think it sounds cool. Like it?

Hmm, first off, It sounds like "ate 'em" ... sort of. If you say it the way i was. Could also sound like "at 'em!" haha..

Does it have any significance? I think it's better to have a name that's significant than something you randomly made up. But it aint too bad.

Good luck with you website!

Name is not terrible but it doesn't say 'gaming'.

I like site names that are 'buggy' in nature myself, that way any coding problems can easily be explained.

Haha. Ya, Atemnehmen means Breath Taking in german. And the reason it doesnt say gaming is because we will have much more stuff than just games.

I think if you try to focus on a company before you focus on your product you may loose sight of your goal and end up disbanding.

You should choose the name wisely, it must be catchy and easy to remember, and it must say what your website is about, or at least be related. In marketing it is very avoided to use hard to pronounce names (phonetic exists in reading too) or names without real meaning. I guess that applies to everything that is done public.

The shmupcomentizer above speaks the truth, you should first define what your website is about, you won't want to put "a webpage of everything" in your description.

Oh as long as you have one product you should be good then.

I've just seem many people your age (and mine) have grandiose company plans and no solid products. You want something easly understood in english and something that ties in with your products. If you can pull it off you may try for a single word name.

I understand what your saying though. I cant tell you how many websites/forums Ive started. A long time ago I did one of thoses 'retreive forgotton password' thing on freewebs, and all of a sudden got 20 e-mails. One for every site. And Ive made about 10 more since then.

Totally besides the point, but Atemnehmen doesn't really exist, or is really bad German. It's a nounified (talk about bad language :) ) phrasal verb. Also, it doesnt mean breathtaking, if that was your intention, it means to take a breath. Atemberaubend would then be the word you were looking for. [/smart ass]

Well, I still like how Atemn Studios sounds, and its very close to Atemberaubend, so i guess its all right.

ps: I guess I wont use such a crappy translator next time.
