That's how i see your colour ramp atm, i think it should be something more like..

SHINE LIGHT BUFFER MIDTONE BUFFER DARK

Basically, increase contrast, fiddle with hues and saturation. Make it look more 3d...

There, i added an extra colour and changed the hue/lightness/saturation a wee bit.

It stil does look more like a misformed pearl than a blob..
