I tryed to animate one of my sprites for Spacenoth.
It should use less frames possible, and look good! Well this one have 3 (it repeats 2 of them) The alien is suposed to turn his body and shoot, but I think that there is something wrong... C&C please. |

I would either have the legs turn on the 3 frames or don't move them at all and turn the torso and head only. I fing the head not moving at all really disturbing as is the hand not shooting not turning with the body. The legs as is grow in size as they turn and that is the worst thing happening here.

as i see it, the hand that doesn't turn with the body is supposed to be holding the firing arm while shooting.
i would suggest you to remove the frame where the arm rises while shooting and replace it with a transition frame between idle and firing pose, representing the fire with the presence of a new ligth source created by the fire of the shoot. or just leave it with the transition frame. in both cases, the idea is to make the animation smoother, and remove that weird movement of the arm(its more he's saying hello to mr invisible)
so you'll have:
Idle>transition>Fire'>Ligthsource'>transition> and back to idle
total: 5 frames. where '' is supposed to be the option.
