Hello there,
I'm working on a Halloween themed platform game for the Amiga. We're currently putting it together in Backbone, which is a platform game engine. I hope to have a demo of the game with at least one full level completed and released both on our upcoming website as well as available to download from Aminet (Amiga resource site) before October 31st. I would hope to have the full game completed eventually. I'm doing the graphics along with someone else, but I'm not very good at pixelling yet. I'm also doing the level design and storyline too. I would love it if someone would like to help out with the graphics for the full game, either the tiles or the sprites. I can't afford to pay anyone for this, so this would be strictly volunteer work, unless the final game is good enough to be sold (as Shareware or Donationware or something), then anyone who helps with the game can take a share of the profits. If anyone is good at editing sprites, or making pixel graphics from stratch, that would be awesome. The tiles are 16x16 and will use 16 colours, while the sprites can be any size but we're trying to keep generic bad guys within 32 pixels wide and collectables within 16x16. The main sprite is meant to be a girl around 16 years old and I want her to be able to change her costume throughout the game. The character will have all sorts of adventures. I have lots of ideas for the game which includes a ghost pirate ship, huge Frankenstein monster and all sorts of creepy/spooky Halloween things in it. The story goes something like this (although it's subject to change if anyone can suggest something better). An evil witch has unleashed the forces of darkness on the town on Halloween night. All the children who wee out trick or treating have been turned to stone, so a good wizard has given you the powers to free the children and battle all the nasties. You run, jump and fight your way through several levels collecting candy, defeating ghouls, and freeing the kids. So far we're nearly finished the first level, but it's kind of bland. Since the game is for the Amiga home computer, anyone with an Amiga, CD32, or a computer capable of emulating an Amiga (any modern PC or PS3) can play it. Would anyone like to help? |
