Pixel Joint Forum: Opinions about Viewtiful Joe art.

I have been playing this game for some time now but the game images are sort of depressing and dreary and not in a good way. I know the whole shade with black is a comic book style but the effect REALLY annoys me in this game. Anyone else have the same opinion? It pains me to see a bight and over saturated color fade to black within two midtones. There is something about it that just is psychologically uncomfortable. That and the fact that objects have varying amounts of detail, shading and unrelated color schemes.

	I'm not really bothered by it. "Shading to black" looks good in other games like Killer 7 and No More Heroes, in my opinion. What do you think about those?

	I have not played them. Like I said, It just has an annoying psychological effect to me personally.

	I saw how they applied the same thing to the TV show. all I have to say is I loved it at first glance, but tends to became way too forced to the point were it no longer exist as a shading and becomes just an accesory, and probably the only remarkable feature in the character's desing. and that's quite sad. another game with this kind of shading(although not in the game itself) is the Artwork of Majora Mask

	I'm not really a bit fan, but it doesn't bother me. I think it makes it stand out.
