I'm playing Gradius Collection for PSP. It is very very fun.

The question though:

R-Type (series)
Darius (series)
Gradius (series)

Which one do you like best? I'm an unorthadox Darius fan. I love the little fitsches. The QUEEN FOSSIL!

3D and arcade should not describe the same noun, according to my personal opinion. 3D games are great, sure, but I just don't get an arcade vibe from 'em, no matter what kind of hardware they're on.

@Surt: If you're not doing any floor(x) or other rounding, it wouldn't be as much of a problem; I was mentally assuming you had a floor() around source_a-0.5 to keep stuff within bounds more. But I guess this "clamping" is just rescaling to a different set of limits (like from 0-1 to 0-255 or something)?

RPG is numberwang.

PO: Language is C++. Using Qt for multiplatform.

PO2: R-types. Never been terribly fond of Gradiuses. Never played a Darius.

MoD: Clamp is to restrict to a range to prevent overflow. So for example perform image operations in floats then clamp (possibly after scaling) to the 0-255 range for char output.

Dear Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood,

1. You're a bit late in ripping off Mario. (lol, RPG's)
2. I thought you figured out that Sonic in isometric sucked ass from Sonic 3D Blast.
3. Actually. scratch that, I thought you figured out that any Sonic game not in straight up 2D sucked ass.
4. Sonic Chronicles? The Dark Brotherhood?? Jesus Christ, could you come up with a name that sounds more like a fangame made in Game Maker?
5. Tiny aliased 3D renders look like sh*t, but that's the DS standard so I guess I can't single you out for it, huh.
6. SONIC'S MY NAME AND SPEED'S MY GAME

I wish I had a DS.

There are so many great 3D arcade games. Also there are  some great shmups like Border Down, Ikaruga and Raiden III. Then you have the lightgun games like Time Crisis which use a special pedal to take cover and pop out. Surly you cannot forget the 3D racing games of the 90's where you actually rode on a special fiberglass motorcycle or helicopter. The arcades where the first places that the public saw 3D games. I remember seeing the now dated Virtua Fighter in 3D for the first time it was jaw dropping. Arcades pushed our 3D consoles and actually held the 3D market compleatly for a few years.

To me the arcade expearance comes from the player fighting for controll over their pocket money and a need to be on the top of the score board.

Two of my fav arcade games of all time are in fact 3D: Time Crisis II and Daytona Usa.

i don't know why you can get the arcade feel of a 3D game monkey, perhaps you're too stragiht minded for 2D games?

He drilled our teeth and pinched our gums with tiny pliers. We were truely in pain for our hour. But we have more visits yes....oh the pain. What a wretched man we are with bad teeth. I made the illustrations for that issue but asked for PJ credit instead of me credit.

December 2007 issue of the Reader's Digest.

So you finally got your hands on a copy? Nice.

And I reckon you're no glory hog, seeing how you asked for PJ to be credited... that or you're in the witness protection and don't need the extra attention.

Rush Limbaugh likes Cold Eeze cough drops. I swear that they are the worst cough drop you will ever take. This is due to their Zinc content. They taste HORRID. I also like Rush Limbaugh but not as much as Michael Savage and Sean Hannity.

Is true.

Maybe I should make the challenge be to pixel a sudoku game.  The one I can't solve wins.

Yes?

I prefer the crossword puzzle, to be honest. They present humorous clues to trivial knowledge (although the one I do relies a lot less on inane pop culture than others, thank goodness).

ALSO, TOO MANY PEOPLE I HAVE SPOKEN TO ARE INCAPABLE OF PRONOUNCING SUDOKU CORRECTLY. Jesus Christ, sound it out, it's not suduko.

It is not important enough to warrant a "correct" spelling. Just a foreign fad "game" nothing more.
