This is sooo wierd.

Today I looked at the sky and went "thats some nice dithering"

and whenever I see something cool now I go "that'd make a nice pixel piece"

I think thats a sign that I've been pixelling too much

I think that's a sign that you ... yeah probably. Or maybe you are just really into pixel art. I wouldn't count that as a bad thing. In fact, now everything I look at I can see some project with potential as well. I'm sure we aren't the only once.

seeing as I do mostly isometrics, I am ALWAYS runnning into things that make me think I should pixel. Cool new architecture is abundant in this city of mine so I always find something interesting.

Sometimes I dream in pixels.

Hey I guess that's perfectly normal when you're really into something. When I tried to grasp those paralax sceneries I saw them everywhere. I'd say it only shows how much you think about it. Actually it's quite enjoyable

Pixelblink: not bad I only had that in a fever dream... that horrible magenta pixel killing my beloved bloodred pixel...again and again...

I played so many video games that I used to tell myself to "save" in real life everytime I was about to do something potentially risky (like.. cross the road ).

Yeah, some kid in Japan stole a car thinking it would be ok because he could reload if he get's caught  That's a sign of too many games. Some people start saying "lol" in real life out loud when somebody says something stupid. I haven't had that happen to me yet and hopping that never will.

As a 3D modeller, I sometimes look at a real-life object/scene and think "Hmm, wouldn't those polygons be interesting to model." Thinking like that is like a great mental practice. Also, since I make a lot of electronic music, whenever I hear various sounds, like a car engine or footsteps, I think of how those sounds could be implemented into music. No wonder your great at pixel art, ryan-gfx, it's always on your mind.

what's so bad about saying lol? I usually accompany my (usually sarcastic) laugh with a lol. and I definitely say W-T-F if I'm totally confused.

Well Core_12. As everyone should know lol stands for laughing out loud and should be used over the internet to let the person know that you are laughing in real life. But in reality you don't need to say such an acronym since you can show your emotion by actually laughing.

That's just a matter of getting used to things or "habits". But I guess it still counts

I was on an air plane going over to maryland with my girlfriend and my family for my older brother's wedding... and my girlfriend and I were watching the clouds and the sun set and everything.. and I remember saying something like:

(out loud)
"I wonder if I could ever pixel anything like that..."

... and she said, "Yeah, one day, probably." :)

One time I believe, when my alarm clock went off, instead of thinking of hitting it to turn it off I thought of using the square selection box, selecting the area it was in, and hitting CTRL-X.

aand, sometimes I say the actual letters "LOL" and "WTF" out loud. :P

I think of doing that too, except with situations in life. Like I'll think, "God.. I wish I could CTRL-Z that situation" :P

Heh, no problem. I'm always willing to make other people happy with my own freakishness.

Which reminds me of when I used to play GTA:VC a lot, I always tried to press the middle mouse button to look behind me. Games do have influence on the real lives of children! Beware!

I'm a little different. I love pixeling, but one of my other passions that I am alot better at is music. I love rock music and christian rock music and stuff like that. If I see something I like or if I hear someone say something cool, I will just start singing a song about it.

The other weird thing I do is, if I see something cool, I think about how I could make it mobile or mechanical. I want to be a mechanical engineer, maybe thats why.

Well I do the singing thing as well, but that's because I love music just like you. And I don't think it's a good idea to compare your music skills with pixel art skills because... well it just isn't comparable - two totally different things.

Whenever I see my girlfriend we have txt sex in front of eachother instead of real sex. What's odd about that?

I too have felt the effects of too much computer though. The other day whenever I closed my eyes I saw big cross-hatching (dithered) pixels on my eyelids. And I get really pissed off when I'm drawing or painting or working in another medium and I dont have the luxury of the save function, as others have mentioned.

hah, I know the feeling too well. When I looked in the mirror this morning my hair looked like it was made of pixels for a second, and the little strands sticking out were only 2 over 1 up pixle lines like in a cube. Maybe it's because I made a wee of myself last night, but I dunno. And yes, I have had pixel dreams. One was as if I was walking around in my room, only my room looked like an Iso apartment. I aslo remember back when I was working a lot in Macromedia flash, and my thoughts had keyframes. >.<

Oh I just wish I were you :)

I feel I pixel too few. Usually I spend all my day doing nothing...

But well, at school, or at home when I am drawing in real, and when something goes not-so-well, then I start looking that "undo" button, and I want to save everything also. Same with writings.

heh, yea I know that feeling :)  I had some quite weird moments as well!
-the mentioned "impulse" to search for "cntrl + z", or look for the layer tab, when drawing on a normal piece of paper, happend quite often.
-Trying to use the "Erase Mode" with a Pen that felt like myWacom Pen...
-looking out of an Air-plain down on the ground, thinking how many tiles would be needed to create the current view for 320x240... and where I could reuse tiles.
-looking at objects "in pixels/polygons"
-dreaming of the "evil booleans"... ( being told by many 3D artists that the Boolean tools in most programs is crap and therefor evil)

I guess it just happens, when you work with digital media often. As long as you don't run a round with a Katana, slashing people in half, shouting "Obey the great Sephiroth!", everything is all right. ;)

hmm.. now that you mention it.. i still got a unused katana here, thanx for the idea!

but its true that when you are into something, you will see it in lots of places, like umm.. i like to parkour occasionally, and when i walked past school the other day i was thinking "how could i get to the roof the fastest/easiest/best"

oh god. i remember that at one point in my life i was chatting with people in all my spare time. so, eventually, i started the "lol" and "wtf" thing. i still use the WTF. it's just easier, i guess.

that's about it though. i do vaguely remember something to what so-lou mentioned, (the magazine) but i'm not sure what.

The other day I was making art to put over top of a film sequence for my boyfriend's movie. I was drawing a comet over top of it and his sister was in the shot. When I went to his house later she was sitting there and they were watching the clip without the overlay. I freaked out because a. she was sitting there and wasn't "in" the computer, and b. they were watching the clip and I thought I sent it to them without saving and just about cried.

Also, I was making a sprite version of my boyfriend and in one of the rooms of a game I'm making for him I gave him a changing room to put on real clothes instead of armor. Right after I finished one of his shirts he came home wearing that shirt and I was staring at it and wanting to edit it as if it were the pixeled shirt. I got really dizzy from there...

I guess this makes an odd second post...

I have already lost my mind.
I think I say "lol" out loud without realizing it now.
Everytime I look at something, I am just amazed in it's complexity, eventually I might remember it's not pixel art.
I used to actually sometimes comment on it. "Wow, that chair is amazing!" People looked at me funny. o_0

Well i've been obsessed with fractals lately, so i ytry to figure what causes trees and ferns to have irregularities in their growth, look up fractal canopies to see what i mean... And i wonder a lot how many polygons it would take to make shapes in real life...

I do pixel in my math lesson all the time. Guess thats the reason why I have it 3, instead of 5 (A, we have the 5 mark system).

But I guess something is really wrong if your whole evening is ruined by continous slow computer. IT JUST SUCKS STUPID ******** *** PIECE OF ****!

I just don't understand why i am so nervous because of that, I would really like to smash this computer totally, but instead of doing that, I ripped some clothes apart, really strong ones... And I am not so strong person. f**k it.

I was outside whole day, and what is the thank of it, slow computer? I know its about the user but its dam computer what makes the user!
