The top one seems to have the evil eye. While the bottom one looks like spock.

Nicely drawn however.

looks cool Larrick, though some cc: the eye seems to be angled downward, and generally in a while female, the lower lip does not go so far beyond the lower lip.  If anything it's a tad further back.    The chin is really pointy - I think you're crossing over to your cartoony style there hehe,  but I love the nose!  Awesome job :)

EDIT: just realized that both the eyes/lips are that way in the inspiration piece, but i think they're stylized there - you need to either tone it down to make it realistic, or really push it so it looks intentional, rather than just odd/wrong

EDIT2: also, in the inspiration drawing, the lips are more angled so it looks like she's just pursing her lips which makes the lower lip push out - on your portrait it's so soft and curvy it looks like it's the natural/relaxed position which is why it looks odd

EDIT3: in the inspiration the eyes are angled, though the iris is facing the viewer and she's supposed to look angry and threatening and stuff - so there's a good reason for that stylization/exaggeration with the angle of the eye.  Again, your portrait looks relaxed and is looking straight ahead, so these same stylizations look out of place.

Thanks! Haha.. i blame my inspiration for all those things! Pointy chin is probs the worst thing, might change that.. although i might not. Unless someone else says somethin i think.

EDIT: so true!

EDIT: thanks leel, hopefully i've fixed it enough now.

Hey Frost, i think that's pretty cool. You should work on your hands and faces though. I'd say this character could do with a thinner neck and larger head (or bigger hair). Interesting though, i think you should redraw her a few times to get a feel for the character. :)

I agree with you for for the neck, I think the head is big enough. I've drawed and redrawed this many times to designe the character and establish the style and the concept, I think I'll continue in this way.
And it's a (quite feminine) boy, look at the torso...no boobs

FrostPumpkin, that's a very cute image, I like it.

Larwick, any particular reason for waving a red flag in front of a bull?
(Nah, it's cool, I'm pretty much, sorta, kinda, almost used to PJ's NOOB use.)

Mille, the first one isn't so bad, but the second and third ones scare the crap out of me.

Chess, but you're pieces are nice in an abstract kind of way.

Elwin, that's not bad.

I sketch it out onto paper first.

Scan it to Photoshop CS2

Clean all lines/ color, by hand steadily with Waccom tablet (no vector lines)

I just blow up the view, start by setting the brush to a solid, round (9,13,19)... and follow the line work that I sketched. Only really taking my sweet time doing it. Because if the line work isn't right, nothing will be in my opinion. So I concentrate on that  the most in my work now when doing digital drawings.

It also relaxes me when working from sketch to inked lines.

I made these two guys in Photoshop the other day. I don't know.

All mouse, baby.

EDIT: Also, I doodled these in Paint a long time ago. They're from some computer game, I think.

Or have I posted those before? I can't remember.
Oh, and PACMANG

Okay, now I'm just going through my entire My Documents folder. I stop (for) now.
