I was wondering if you guys could help me out..
I've been using paint shop pro 8, and I was wondering
if any one of you would recomend upgrading to 9.

8's had it's fair share of bugs, and I'd like to do away with
them for good, but if 9 is more or less a downgrade then.. I dunno.

I have 7 and 9.  I had many problems with 8 but haven't encountered them in 9.  I still use 7 mostly cos its faster on my machine though. 9 takes longer to load and stuff.  Nowhere near as long as Photoshop but PSP7 loads near instantly so is more convienent.

I've been eyeing PSP 9 as well these past 2 weeks and have thought about buying it. What have they done to improve it since PSP 7?

for one, the vector support is way better than 8.  I don't know how
vector support was in 7, because I wasn't much into vector art at the time.

It runs a lot smoother, in my opinion.. and it hasn't crashed on me yet!

There's a thing called the art media layer, but I'm not very sure what
that does exactly.

The interface runs a lot smoother and it seems as though most of the bugs
have been worked out...

Stupid question, but what is vector art? I've never heard of it before.

I know what it is.. but yeah, I kind of don't.

Basically, vectors are made up of mathematical lines, rather than just
dots on an XY grid...  You can resize or rotate in any direction while keeping
the same shape of the object or line or whatever you're working on...

Have you ever used flash?  You know the shapes and stuff you create in there?
Those are vector shapes...

I highly recommend PSP9, I love it. It's a bit different from PSP7, but nothing I could name right off.. just smoother operated IMO
