"AWAITING APPROVAL" means that the mods need to look at first and decide if it is good enough to be in the gallery. You have to wait a little bit, patience is a virtue.

"REVISION NEEDED BEFORE APPROVAL" means the mods did look at it and found something wrong with it. If you get then then make a topic in the wip forum and we'll be able to help you out.

may i ask a question please?
yes, anytime, the forum is the place.

when i upload my pixel art into pixel joint gallery it says AWAITING APPROVAL
what does that mean?
It means its in the public queue awaiting member voting input and eventual addition to your gallery. You are new and things may sit a little longer than usual since we don't know you yet and you may be a RIPer. Members will quickly find out ;) Nothing personal, we gwt spammed often.

Also some of my pixels says
REVISION NEEDED BEFORE APPROVAL
????
This means that the overall concensus on a piece is that it needs work. This may be the quality of the pixelart, the lineart or any other pixelart related technique. It is very difficult to specify one thing so its best to post in the forum WIP section to get feedback to help you determine what is at issue. Sometimes its the simplest thing, other times it may be a combination of things. The forum works, use it :)

what do i do to fix it?
Again, the forum will get you input which you then use to improve the piece not only so that it gets in your gallery but so that you improve overall.

About your gallery piece awaiting approval:

me first pixel art in here
This piece has lineart issues and coloring is very weak. This piece can be improved and should be.

Chef?
Coloring is very weak and slightly pillowshaded, which is frowned upon in pixelart. Anatomy is really poor. Contrast issues also apply here.

my jacket
It doesn't look like a jacket. The arms are rather difficult to make out. I dunno about this one, let's hope the real one keeps you warm : /

redscarf
Same as the chef although this one has some signs of good contrast and style so it's worth refining somehow to make it pop.

sprite trial
This is the most troublesome pixelart in your gallery. It has good contrast, anatomy and style. You mention nothing in the description whether its referenced on another's work so assuming it's 100% original work then it makes other things in your gallery not worthy of your gallery. This piece shows the type of work we'd like to see in the others.
Your challenge entry which I just added could be better and in time you will get better. This one shows promise and is somewhere between the weak pixelarts and the sprite test.

In conclusion, its hard to tell where you are at in pixelart. The scope of your gallery is vast. We will only judge you on your own work and never against another person. For now I suggest you use the forum WIP section to help with feedback and continue with the quality of the challenge entry and improve from there. Revisit all the pixelart sent back and bring the quality of the pixelart techniques up to match :)

Well I don't think you suck at all.
Your challenge knight entry is fine.
This little guy here looks good too. The jacket on the sprite looks great. Alone as you submitted it looks...like not much.
I think it may be the way you present your art rather than your pixelling. This little guy even has some contrast.

Dithering using 50/50 like the knight is fine as is the other way. Its style and artistic choices.

Use the WIP section for input and help. The best tutorial is looking at other's gallery and asking questions. Don't worry if your English is not the best. Like love, pixelart is universal :)

may i please ask questions >_<
well i want to ask whats the best way of shaping stuff? like i can't shape stuff good O-o
sometimes from looking at a picture i want to pixel it, but i don't know how to shape it and i want to like change the position to the left since most sprites are on the left or right side.

well im still 12 still got a long way :D to catch up
i was wondering whats the diffrence between the dotted shading or the just shade? Like where is it used or how i use it to make good art.

Thanx a lot for your help jalonso :D

You can improve your spriting by accepting the fact that you " suck " and resolving to " not suck ". I put those in quotes, 'cause they're not true in more ways than one. We all were pretty dang bad at one time or another. Take Jalonso, for example. When he started doing pixel art in 1863, all he could do was a simple circle out of rocks. Plus he added a lens flare. Toootal noob, check it out:

http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y73/SaboteurGreg/Jalonso.jpg

Be your own worst enemy. Jalonso has had several decades to hone his self-critiquing ability, and that is why he can produce such great and massive pixel arts. He makes something, and when he gets stuck with something, he stops and takes a look at it. He says to himself:

"Jalonso, what is wrong with this piece? What don't you like about this piece of artwork? Is it within my technical grasp to fix?"

If Jalonso says no, it isn't within his technical grasp to fix, then he gives up and submits it to his gallery? NO! That crazy old bug TRIES ANYWAYS! Know why? Because practice is the cure-all for sh*tty artistry. Practice practice practice, draw draw draw. And have a little love for your work. Make it the best that it can be, not just okay.

XD!!!

The best thing is to keep trying this is true.
Again, making a WIP thread for your pixelart is great help. I depend on it and it always makes my pixelart better.

*You say you are 12 years old. You must be 13 to be a Pixeljoint member. I will not report you but you better behave like you are at least 15, ok.

It's not age discrimination, it's simply making sure you agree that you are mature enough to view things suitable for 13+ so your mind isn't unduly f***ed over and also so we don't get sued.

Welcome to Pixeljoint and good luck with your pixel art!

There're also legal reasons--at least in the U.S., websites aren't allowed to accept personal information from children below the age of 13.

No real artist is going to tell you 'you suck'. Sure they might tell you to improve here or there, but no one who is serious about art is going to make a direct attack against the artist rather than the art. Keep at it and don't give up.

in the worst cases, you can always go back and play some old SNES/Genesis games to get some ideas and inspiration.

notice I never mentioned the word RIPPING or EDITING in that advice. you know, we always caught these bad guys, soon or later.
