So, recently, I started on this little voyage to make a complete videogame entirely by myself. I didn't put a whole lot of effort into the graphics yet (and hadn't put much into the music until today), but I wanted to at least have acceptable graphics to begin with, at any rate. So hey... Tell me what you think of Rotis! (Also, all the gameplay details are at the page below.)

Panel de Pon, aka. Tetris Attack. :P I saw it as a mix of these other games, too:

Bejeweled
Bulldozer (I'm sure nobody's ever played that, but there are quite a few similar untimed puzzle games out there)
Collapse

And then, well, I guess you could say I put my own...twist into it. :)

>pannel de Pon.
Magical Drop
etc.

indeed, my apologies for not mentioning that. I would suggest that future versions should include some sort of tutorial or help about the game mechanics, as nothing like that is provided with your zp file.

also, hoping to see a new version comming soon. I'm quite fond of these games.

p.s.: credits make me smile, that's for sure.

I feel that the current graphics are a bit weak for the gameplay. I would understand if they were "programmer graphics". I wouldn't mind taking a stab at them if you wanted me to. The game is fun but the graphics currently seem to detract from a solid idea.

Metaru: I actually was thinking I should put in a little tutorial. I never tried doing that sort of thing with a game before, but it would be really easy in this case. Luckily, I also set up the menus so that it's no big deal at all to add an option. :P

Pixel_Outlaw: I really appreciate the offer! It's not frequently that people actually offer me assistance. However, this happens to be the one game I decided I wanted to make entirely by myself, so I must decline said offer. But I would like to know: are the portals and wooden blocks acceptable (aside from the wooden ones maybe needing a border)? I planned on changing the "rocks" (which are currently blobs of gray) already, but I need serious practice on making rocks.

Why not post the gfx to the WIP forum then? It could make your game at least 20% more awesome.

I'm working on How To Play right now. But yeah, I'll post the graphics to the WIP section soon...

Edit:
Added that How To Play mode and uploaded it. http://dpmm.110mb.com/Rotis

I just updated Rotis again with a bit of a graphical effect when the blocks pop. Also, it moved into the beta stage of development yesterday. Now find bugs if you can! (Aside from blocks sometimes popping when you start a level.) I'm about to break down and mess with the block graphics, too.

Updated once again. I actually improved the basic colored tiles, the toggler (I had used a very simple flat graphic before--just added a shade to it), and the wooden blocks.
