Greetings artists,
Rollo is a platformer game developed for the mobile phones, but it can also be run on an ordinary desktop computer with Java installed. The game has been on/off development for about two years now and as the code is nearly finished it needs some more tiles and sprites to be able to finish the story. 1. The group currently involved with Rollo is : Ville Nuutinen (me), programmer Sami Heikura, Musician Juha Katila, Musician Jaana Vihavainen, graphics (she no longer has time for the project) 2. Rollo needs some tiles (swamp, cave and summer cabin tiles) as well as some sprites to make story progression possible. Additions to the forest tiles would naturally be nice, as this would make level building more fun and varied. The story is not written in stone, yet (since there are no graphics :D), so you might even have a chance of affecting it. 3. This is a hobby project, so there will be no money involved. You will naturally get your name in the credits + fame and glory ;-) 4. My email address is my nickname added with @fsck.fi at the end. 5. Although I've been programming for quite a few years now, I haven't made games that much. I have done a side-scrolling shooter before into which I drew the graphics myself.. and they're horrible :D I've also coded a simple meteor dodging game with Symbian. I'll let these shots of Rollo do the talking, they're quite big, so I won't put them here directly. Here are some clickable links. Rollo 0.19 gradient test. This is an animated gif of the most recent version of Rollo. Sized around 4 megabytes. It might stutter while it's loading if your connection is slow. Bossfight This is an older version, where gradients weren't used yet. This is a flash animation around 4 megabytes. Dialogue screen. The second character in this screen is pixelated, because I didn't have the "blueberry elder" graphic back then. This is an animated gif around 600k. And no, this is not final story version dialogue :D There is also an animated flash clip of the game with music. Check it out in the project pages under "Media" |
