Hi again. I think my previous post was deleted/taken down for some reason without any explanation. Sorry if I broke some rule. It'd be extra helpful if I could be messaged or something on what I did so I don't do it again -_-;;
Thanks for the color break down on the portraits. I'm going to try to fix the asian girl's face so she's no longer green =P What I ended up doing on those was just running the entire thing through a color filter where I toned down the green as far as I could with the picture looking like it wasn't totally off color.
On a side note, I started doing some research into pixel art and I can totally see now that I have some severe banding issues but I'm uncertain in how to fix them. Do you think I should try to anti alias the lines or is there some other method pixel art wise to show long lines with shading underneath that doesn't band? All this artwork currently was for the most part, thrown together really quickly so that I could get into the programming and I made them knowing I'd end up touching them up later on, but I can't seem to come up with a way to get around the banding on long, straight horizontal lines. Any pointers in the right direction would be greatly appreciated. Since my original post is gone, here's a picture of how the wall tile will be used.
Again, I'm sorry if I did something wrong. Everything I'm currently doing is considered a WIP to me since all the art assets will need to go through a few more passes before I think they're finished. Especially now that I've read about and can tell there's a ton of newbie errors. |

Just read the link I gave on banding, it tells you everything you need to know about it. It's all about offsetting the pixel clusters so they don't align. You can add shading, just make sure that the clusters you're adding don't align with the surrounding clusters. A forum search reveals your original thread still exists, but I can't explain its disappearance. Forum just seemed to have eaten it. I went ahead and bumped it back to the front page, continue with whichever thread you prefer and I'll go ahead and lock the other.
