Just wondering what else everyone else dabbles in?
I have met pixellers who make music, do 3D artwork, paint on canvas, do flash-vector artwork, etc...

Me personally?
I do lots of pencil sketches on cartoon character ideas... I am a doodler.
I have also played with (and still want to learn someday) 3D auto-cad style art.
I try my hand at pixelling.
And I love to play with digital artwork like photography manipulations and such.

I would LOVE to get into music making, but I can't find a good program at my budget.

That about sums up my artistic side...

I am me... no! Really!

"but I can't find a good program at my budget"

dont download any free software off one of those file sharing
programs *ahem limewire ahem* because i would never do such a
thing. you must also not get the serial of a site like phazeddl.com.

i like to sketch, my desk is probably covered with a whole trees
worth of paper. I like working in photoshop and messing with
photos. i also like designing websites in PS.

we have a CAD 3d program at school which im ok with.

I've been told there's spyware, etc. on those type of sites.  It scares me.

Back on-topic, I do some pencil drawings and make a bit of music. I also do vector art in Adobe Illustrator & Photoshop.

I used to do alot of photomanipulations... in fact, that's what got me doing digital art to start with. Used to make custom avatars for virtual chat. I've also done some very basic flash stuff, vectors, and some music (as I've mentioned before... go to www.myspace.com/blinkoncemusic)

In the past, I've done pretty much everything from pen and pencils, paints, collages, sculpture, and writing in all various forms.

I doodle/draw a lot at school. Usually just cartoon characters, but sometimes also short comics such as that Argument which I also pixeled.
Sometimes I also mess around in Photoshop, and see how it turns out.

Is making games considered an art form too?

perhaps, "the art of game-making", i see anything that expresses
yourself or any piece of creativity as art. however game-making is
not a medium of art.........

painting on canvas/paper whatever
drawing with pencil, ink (oh and pixels which I feel is quite close to traditional drawing)
photography

Funny thing is that when I learn something - say from painting- I can use this new-learned thing for pixels (or another thing) too.
That said I learned a lot about
-composition from photographing
-shaping from drawing
-"material- and tool-awareness" from painting
and strangely a lot about colors from pixel pushing (or maybe not strange with limited colorcounts.)

By your standards picture taking isn't art either. Your just sampiling pre made things. Game making is art. It involves msny smaller art types. Storytelling, sprite making DUH,and muxic making. Now how is that not art?

i even said it was art as it "expressed yourself" and is "creativity".

forgot to mention that I'm going to the Orange Party next Saturday and I'm in the process of making a Mushroom Cap out of chicken wire and paper mache as well as sewing together some pants out of a tracky orange bedsheet I found at Value Village. It is sure to interesting in any case.

Lately I've been intrigued by stencil graffiti. I've only made and used one stencil so far and hope to make a lot more.

Also I remember liking linoleum block printing a few years back when I had to do it in art class. So I may try picking that up again.

And I've always wanted to get into animation, but I don't really have the patience for it so I stick with static drawings.

Oh no people not that again! You can't possibly discuss about a topic like that(well you can but it tends to drift into arguing - nothing wrong with that though) - so what do you think ART is?

This word did erode so much that these days everything that "sells" as art is art. So game-making is NOT art but game-making(you can be creative in it of course). A lot of people use the art-term as it was used about 100 years ago or even an older, romantic term.

I've been drawing for a very long time. Mostly manga-inspired drawings.
I've also found myself enjoying making movies (only problem is that you gotta have actors =P ) and I'm also currently learning 3D Modeling. Woo, I've got 3D class tomorrow!

I'm into music making also...
playing piano and guitar.. I kinda suck though :S
well, that's it
unless you count programming lots of useless and game making as art, too (There certainly is some kind of creativity involved.. my source codes tend to look like poems )

Finally got a few pics from the orange party:

My costume rocked! I also made that container you see in the second picture.. it was full of orange candy I was giving out to people. It was a good ice breaker for sure. The music rocked my socks off and I had a blast!

"Art: Art, in its broadest meaning, is the expression of creativity or imagination, or both."

Game Developing/Programming/Designing should be an art.
