Hello, I was wondering where I could find a tutorial on how to make sprites similar to what the Pokemon games have.
Here's an example

What sort of tutorial are you looking for, exactly? The proportions? The colouring style? What can a tutorial teach you about the style that simply observing it in detail can't?

I could probably make you a tutorial if you provide more examples of various characters. It's hard to generate a good procedure from just one character.

Just zoom right in and try to copy the basic shapes. Take one of the ones without a hat or and get the basic head shape down pixel by pixel.
Some of them have slightly different hands or head shapes... Heres one I did really quick, maybe not very good but shows a beginner can do it.
The trick is to see where they're mixing two colors, like where the shirt meets the hands and the head, you've got to mix the shirt color with the outline color. Just try it and post what you come up with. |
