Pixel Joint Forum: No more lil dudes

Message

We all love those cute little fellows that everybody here at PJ likes to call lil dudes. Everytime i look into the public que i always find a noob posting 5 lil dudes at a time. Not that i hate them but come on too many little dudes for a lifetime. I call upon the admins to forbid the submissions of lil dudes. At least have a week every year called lil dude week where everybody submits their lil dudes.

	Wait, let me get this straight. You get annoyed when you see five or so Lil' Dudes submitted at once, so instead, you want us to take in a year's worth of them in one week every year? Yeah, I'm not really digging this either. Besides, the bar is already set fairly high at the moment. Nowadays we're only accepting unique Lil' Dudes that had a lot of effort put into them.

	there are a few unfinnished collab projects at PJ. The joint i believe has a few floors left unfinnished. All noobs do is submit lil dudes. They will get better practice doing a joint room than making a little dude.

	But a joint room is almost infinitely more intimidating. If you don't like n00bs submitting lil' dudes, you have your public queue vote for a reason. Use it and act instead of complaining. I agree with your sentiment in your most recent post but do not understand its relevance. I am sorry.

	So you're telling me you check the public queue so you can see the art that gets rejected then complain about it? If you don't want to see the lil' dudes, look in the New Pixel Art section and you'll see maybe one lil' dude per month. It's not easy to get them up to the high standards they have these days, so if one makes it into the gallery it's usually worth looking at.

	What im saying is that lil dudes is becoming a way to get a pic in the gallery. all they have to do is work a good 2 hours and then submit it. voila another pic in the gallery. i want to do it again can i mummy ha please.

	Submitting a piece to a Pixel Joint project is and probably always will be a way to get a piece into the galelry. An alternative is to come up with your own idea and create a piece from scratch. But I think if you work for two hours on that small of a piece it should probably be good enough to get into the gallery. But stuff isn't accepted just because someone worked for a long time and it's a lil' dude; if you spent 5 days solid on a lil' dudes piece and it still sucks, it's still not going to get into the gallery.

	We're sick of it, but most noobs here haven't seen much like it before. It's also fairly easy to do, and doesn't require much artistic skill. It's just a way for them to familiarize themselves with the art of the pixel. Relax man, it's not that terrible.

	Why don't you plan on focusing on your own pixels instead of bitching about everyone else's. Seriously. It was a neat project at one time, they decided to cut down on the lil dudes long before you were even here.. THIS IS NOT YOUR MISSION. Just move on, will ya? There's better things to worry about out there.

	Lil dudes are ok..
