hey folks, me again

since it's friday and i'm too broke to go out tonight, i decided to work on my rose piece

give me your honest opinion (no mean ones

). still working on my bee piece and decided to submit it on sunday before the super bowl.

Firstly, you should make sure you're using a reference, if you're not already. If you have a reference you should probably post it here.

It's looking good so far, but I think it could do with some improvement.

I made a bit of an edit:

I think you could play around with the colours a bit more, right now you're using a completely straight ramp, I think this could benefit from some hue shifting.

I also removed or softened some of the outlines, since some of them made the rose look a bit too harsh and rugged.

thanks skamocore. i have a reference picture for the rose (forgot to post it). do the hues really look that bright and garish?

i feel like you're taking the division between the petals at the rgiht way too drastically. looks more as if something cut that part of the rose.

I'd be tempted to stick an extra couple of petals into that gap on the right side of the flower, even though you've stayed true to the reference image it looks a bit wierd without the leaves in the background.

Otherwise looking good!

im not an expert on this pixel art because i just joined and i think your rose is very beautiful.i don't have any advice because i don't know the first thing about pixel art but keep up the good work

I'm very sorry, but if you're just going to stop by in a topic for the purpose of basically making a post and increasing your postcount by a single increment, then you really might as well not post at all.

On that note, love the rose. I like the way the shading seems to blend together to make the rose seem a bit fluid. Nice colors.

Definitely needs leaves of come sort. The left side seems cut off without something to balance it.
