Well it's a kind of a done deal on this guy. But I will definitely consider pushing features on my next piece. Especially if it's for the theatre again. Thanks leel for the PUSH!

If anyone is wondering where I get most of my caricature inspiration/teachings from. Its a wonderful book called "How To Draw Caricatures (by Lenn Redman)". You should really check it out if you want to learn from one of the MASTERS!!!

Lookin' good so far, Larkwick! The perfect, uniform roundness of the shadow around the navel looks a little strange to me, though (*is not an expert in navels* )

A quick painting I did a few days ago:

I spent the other night watching the two dvd of the works of Michel Gondry. If you haven't seen anything well you must (but I bet you did, unconsciously at least), cause it so damn dreamy, his works lacks of boundaries between reality and fantasy. Apart from the fact that he is so damn good to adapt his workflow to any artist :) A must for inspiration, a kick in the ass to reality :P

I received my award from Kevin (klav) in the mail the other day for that isometric character guessing game piece he posted here a couple of weeks back.

Here... http://www.pixeljoint.com/pixelart/32987.htm

And this is what I received for all my hard work! I really dig it as well. He also signed it, and tacked a wire on the back for hanging it up on the wall. Really nice stuff!!!

You can get one of these for only $10 as well. Just note him here at PJ.

Enjoy!!!

those would translate well, but i've found anything less than 3/4" per pixel really sucks in paint form.  I've been exhibiting pixel paintings for about 4 years now and am trying to move on to better mediums.  I may try a wood inlay and possibly a laser cut.  a friends laser cut.

God I'm so bored. Couldnt bother with the nose and the mouth, they looked bad anyway I looked at them so I left them out.

It's a selfportrait btw. If someone wants the ref I'll throw it in sometime with an edit.

Thanks!! I know what you mean, but from what I can tell it is pretty true to the photo - I added in the coloring to the horse along with the shadows and there is a big white spot on the horse's nose which is causing this - once I finsih the rest and see how white all of my other white places are I am going to revisit the head. The only thing I can see that I have messed up on is the part(the hair-related part not section) in the bottom of the horse's mane. I will figure out how to fix that when I finish more of her back.

the other thing I messed up on is the size on the paper and that is what I get for not sketching anything - this is from a photo of 3 wild horses, the one in the front is pregnant with a huge belly, but it's belly, that I really wanted to be a prominent feature will be sticking off the bottom of the page and then there are two other horses behind this one that wont fit on the page either - I am thinking of just making it some  big odd-panelled drawing if I can ever get around to finishing it. That depends a lot on how much inspiration I get from the girl I am drawing this for.

Your lady is pretty cool too. She's warning you! Some toxic love. (or else she is whispering something sexy with some stanking breath)

I shouldn't worry, i thought it looked pretty good as just a single horse on a page. You can always redraw a new composition :P
And i like that perception :) thanks.

yeah, I kind of realized too late that i squished the tree up to the top, I agree it could use some more height/width to the leaves.

thanks lar, appreciate it : )

btw, it was a one day round of a contest and the theme was "trees" if you hadn't guessed already

Gin is a f**king badass motherf**ker.

I don't really recognize him there, though. It looks really nice,
but something is just not 'Gin' about him.
If it weren't for the 'Skewer that punk' I probably wouldn't have guessed it.

Delfos, i love that baby/model thing, for some reason, it's really stylish.

Yeah Opacus, i'm finding it harder than i thought to get his resemblance (the obvious answer would be to change his eyebrows and close his eyes). Hopefully this is better:

Oh man, this is too sweet. The white background kind of takes away from it though. I dunno, maybe that's just a personal thing. Regardless, the way you used such simple colors is brilliant!
