Hello, there, PixelJoint. I joined here about three years ago and didn't remember until recently. So I'm coming back to post some pixels and improve them.

My name is William. I have been working in the games and animation industries since 1997. I was the lead animator on the Henry and June parts of a show called Kablam on Nickelodeon before I got into the games industry. After i got laid off at Nickelodeon the only work I could find was doing pixel art. And then no one asked me to do anything else for a long time. I did a bunch of games for VH1 ( Divatron, legends of rock series), Cartoon Network( Ed, Edd and Eddy pixel game), Adult Swim(Harvey Birdman: Stop that Sandwich, Brak headkicker2), breakfast brawl Mike tyson punchout remake, etc. Now i work at a company called Arkadium and i have only gotten a chance to do pixels once since i have been here with Cat Fight, which you can see elsewhere in this forum. I miss the pixels and its nice to meet all of you.

Hey, I must have been lurking here for as long as I can remember (and I've been pixel pushing for at least five years). More and more recently pixel joint has been popping up in Google searches for things I am looking for so I thought I would cut out the middle man and finally sign up to something.

So a little about me:

My name is Simon, I started pixel pushing around 2003 and have been playing with it on and off since then. I am pretty good at drawing architecture with pixels and have done a couple of simple city scenes. More recently having seen some of the big projects out there (most of which are some how linked to pixel joint) I have been inspired to carry out some of my own.

My current projects are:

  • Pun Street, for those of you who have heard of David Gorman; he has a radio show, during which they have listeners send in shop names which are also puns. This makes for some great idea fodder for a isometric high street scene.

  • Main Frame, in a similar way to the joint http://www.pixeljoint.com/projects/thejoint/ I thought about making a 21 story high office block with server rooms, toilets, cafe, break rooms, offices, cubicles, etc. The WIP can be seen here

Greetings, I'm Mr.Derogative, I've been lurking around on this site for oh say two weeks and it's only been a few days ago that I've started pixel art. Before I thoroughly introduce myself I would just like to say that this website has some of the most talented artists that I've ever seen in my life, never before have I seen so much effort and passion put into each and every piece of work. I've come here and made an account to improve on my faulty pixel art and be critizised justly. I have no doubt in my mind that this community can help it's members to become more complete artists, and that is the reason why I've joined this website. I hope to enjoy my stay here and get to know many of the talented people on this site.

Hello everyone. I am usually called as DDX.

I've got interested in pixel art quite recently.

I actually did some pixel work. Not sure if they are anywhere good.

That's why I joined this forum. Maybe I will get better, and perhaps become more active in this form of art.

So. See you on the forum.

Here is my first attempt on the Isometric style.

Well hello,

I think I'm gonna say hi too! Haha!
My name is Nadine, I'm from Holland and at the moment I'm 19 years old.
My school and work are all about food and cooking, because I'm learning to be a cook.
In my free time (the little there's left) I love to be creative with paint and pencil, but also with the computer. I started with the pixelart not that long ago, so there's much to learn for me!
Next to the art stuff I'm a part-time model, just for fun, not for money or anything like that.

I think from the few pieces I made, these two are my favs:

Hi everyone,

I found these forums (like a lot of other people, it seems) by googling pixelart. Some time ago, I tried to start pixelarting, but decided I was too lazy and gave up on it =P. This time I'm going to try to keep it up a bit better.
I live in the Netherlands (again like a lot of other people here). I'm pretty bad at art, although I do think I have something for it. (Also, I'm pretty addicted to MineCraft, but it's not because I was 'pining over the fact that some people on Minecraft think that they're pro just because they can recreate the NES megaman sprite by matching pixels' that I came here XD).

Edit: Oh, and I'm going to post some of my first pixelarts shortly =D

Hey everyone, I'm Sisco.  A huge fan of art and animation, but especially video games.  I decided I wanted to start learning how to make better pixel art so I can make better game sprites for my stupid projects that I never finish- and a little search on google lead me here.  Let's be friends for great justice!

here's some stuff I do:

Well, I've joined to improve my spriting skills and hope I can learn a lot from you guys.

Here are some examples of what I did lately:

My name is Mo,

Obviously I'm new,

I'm a Malawian (Central Africa) very interested in Manga and Anime, and am in particular aiming to be a Light Novelist, but i can't fully enjoy my passion without some art skills, and i've gone from art style to art style, until i saw Pixel art. It has really attracted me in no way others have and i want to learn and become something in it. I'm not a professional yet but i'm somewhere along the line.

I hope to learn what i can and see the amazing works that populate the area. Hopefully i can share some of my skills as well. Looking forward to meeting a lot of people.

Hello, my name's Richard, but I go by the name of lambcrash online as that's my PSN name.

I've been a fan of pixel art since I was a kid - I guess because of the games I used to play on my Atari ST, and then later, Sega Game Gear (happy days!), and I've started to get into retro gaming which has re-enthused me about the whole pixel art genre (which I'm also trying to translate into some real world canvas projects). Of course, I'm brand new to doing this myself.

Anyways, I hope to learn some skills at pixel joint and look forward to meeting like-minded peeps too - as well as seeing what other people are making!

Helloo my real name is Chris but online name is usually Bumfs :)

I'm 16 and from England and I suck at art! I have no experience, but pixel art just amazes me, I really love it for some reason and would be great to be able to draw a few simple things, but most tutorials don't help. They just tell you about lines and stuff.. I have no idea where to start!

If anyone knows any useful tutorials like a step by step or something it might help.. because all the tutorials ive seen so far seem too complicated to me.

Maybe i'm just not supposed to be an artist but it would be great to draw some simple thins :)

Anyway enough ranting nice to meet you all :)

Hello!

My name is Josue Arguedas. I am twenty years old and live in the US.

I just wanted to say hello and also congratulate all of the wonderful pixel artists. I know it takes patience and willingness and most important creativity and more patience.

I first found out about pixel art at a website called deviant art. I learned the basics and did some pixel art for a while. I even made a t.v avatar in pixel form or art and won a daily deviation. After that I left and never came back, but since I appreciate art very much I felt perhaps I should try again.

There is so much nice art here I could just look through it all day.

Josue

Hi !

My name is François, I'm 22 and I'm French. I'm a student in plastics processing and very fond of informatics (programming) and graphism in general.

I "discovered" (weird verb while you played pixel games for a whole youth) pixel art a year ago I think, and was astonished to see how people can draw such great pictures with just a pixel pen...

I discovered then pixel joint and started lurking at all these gorgeous pictures before beginning myself to start drawing pixels (I used to draw a very little bit during history lessons during high school, but nothing exceptional..)

As I am not quite the artistic type, I still encounter much difficulties to draw bodies and organic matter, but I will work hard and listen to the wise elders of this forum ( ;) ).

I currently am working on a personal game project, and therefore am working on the designs.

So, I am glad to be here and hope reading from you very soon

François

Hi, I found PixelJoint as a result of searching for tutorials on pixel art (the Noobtorials came up, which were quite helpful!) Then I checked out the gallery and was blown away by the quality of work there. I hope someday that I can produce work of a similar caliber :)
I'm very new to pixel art, just the past couple months actually. My husband had been urging me to help out with a game he and a friend are working on, and I had been hesitant because I knew it would be quite a challenge to draw on such a small scale and make it look good. Well, I finally agreed and am finding that indeed it is quite a challenge but it's worth it! (I recently posted  work I've done on a sprite animation in the WIP section, please go critique it!)
I've drawn with pencil and paper for as long as I can remember, and took a lot of art classes in high school and college. Then I went through a years-long creative block (I'm very old- late 30's), so I'm pretty rusty now but am so glad to be getting back into art again!
Anyway, sorry for the too-long intro, and I'm very glad to have found this site!
