Don't be so quick to write GIMP off.The trick with it (and most open source tools in general) is figuring out how to configure its settings to make it more pliable to suit your needs. For example, you can create custom brushes and map them to specific pixel patterns, configure the mouse-wheel to zoom by specific zoom factors...and much more. You just have to put in the time to learn how to use it.

But what I really like about GIMP is the ability to extend its functionality by writing custom plugins using Python. I have my GIMP pimped out with custom tools driven by code I've written; one of them exports GIMP layers to a custom JSON based map format allowing me to use GIMP as a level editor for a idea I'm working on. It's pretty powerful.

I'm still using gimp because I already know the shortcuts and its easier for me to use it.

I used gimp for two years. The first time I tried to use grafx2 instead I hated it and came crying back to gimp. Now I hate gimp.

Grafx2 is the program that inspires me to pixel. And that value is very important

I currently don't have time to learn new program to the extent that would make it easier for me to work in it, then working in gimp. Also i couldn't animate Scarlet because i thought of making some very good animation with at least 10 or so frames and my character has at least 6 to 7 parts that need to be animated so i thought of starting small with animation and do a character with less parts and simple animation, but i need to work on my pixel art first.

By the way should i change name of the thread to Little Introduction and character design or should i just start new thread My characters/Character Designing to post all my other characters that ill do ?

Sorry I was talking to xengma

Use whatever program you like best

Umm I think it's suitsble to make a new thread since you're not introducing yourself anymore, but you could also just keep posting on this thread if you want
