If you can't deal with a challenging palette, than you have a flaw as a pixel artist. Pixel art wasn't developed under pretty or easy palettes. Think about making games for a system when these colors are all you had. No creamy pastel colors like today.

No, just saying that if a pixel artist can't work with a palette they have a real weakness. I was worried you might think I'm taking aim at you and I was not. Sorry.

@klav: That update is hella nice. That background has managed some good soft colors, and the thick black outline fits that tattoo look the image has nicely

Well, I might as well post my WIP, though I don't really know why I'm continuing it. Dithering is not my forte.  I really need help with the dithered highlighting on his vest (that blue thing.) It is so wrong and UGH. /smacks head against desk. |
