Because I can say too - "Only portrait oriented images count!".

Width x Height is usual everywhere. Did you see in some monitor specification "It could show 1200x1920"? I will answer for you: NOPE. Everywhere is used: width x height. It's unified standard.

Let's show the logic point of view: 
120x240 = vertical
240x120 = horizontal
and rules say: "120x240 horizontal".
Hmpf... so in other words: "vertical horizontal". Hooray! Tell me what it means.

i must admit I have read it from the start that landscape/portrait wasn't important to start with.. but I am guessing it ain't too much hard to switch (fo r an artist like you ;) )

Yes I think you should dither the well.. try to make the stones less squary too.. let them stick out a bit...

This is my WIP so far, I want a sort of retro style. Not quite sure where Im going with this. Also, dither the grass?

I usually would I just forgot this time, the stupid defualt of photobucket when you leave it as a BMP.

I completely changed what I'm doing since I had a better idea, that I know where I'm going with. :P

I have come to admire you, your work and your perseverance in becoming an active PJ member. Especially given such a rough start. I will consider your post/comment to be written in a 'mood' and not your general aptitude towards our (yours and mine) challenges.

Your challenge is in the queue waiting to come up. I am saddened that you have taken it this way. Whenever a challenge is by a winner its always written out, as best as I can recall. When several winners have similar challenges. Say, 'a scene of fantasy' then we move someone up to break the monotony of the challenges. We continue to be learning about the challenges and no one person sets the rules. PJ is pretty liberal and always looks to member inputs.

The purpose of challenges is multi purpose. It can inspire when dry. It can motivate when lazy. It can ease the primal urge to compete. It can kill some time. It can be used to showcase your prowess. Its whatever you choose to make of it.
Any reward associated with it is in the end meaningless because other than bragging rights, you are what you are. Your skills and talent are what they are. The winner is not always the best pixel entered. So many variables enter into play that in the end 'pixel for yourself and share' is the healthy attitude.
Your pixel work is fantastic and all that good stuff, but. No matter what you do and how awesome it is...personally, I would vote for simple pixelly pixels with clever ideas and originality over your pixels 100% of the time. This in no way means I do not like, admire, rate highly your work which is undeniably great stuff. Art remains subjective in the end and 'counting on prizes' is counter-productive to your work and artistic development.

Well... Jalonso, please don't take it personal. It wasn't an opinion to offence anybody, especially PJ headquaters, because you do a good work. Maybe i've written it using too harsh words.

I spoke with another pixel graphician and we agreed that decreasing weekly challenges to monthly/two weeks challenges should improve the quality of pixel works. On other way when I see works made for Pixelween I'm not so sure about it. Whatever... Anyway it's just an opinion that something could happen with weekly challenges.

I'm only saying that some kind of prizes always creates challenge more competitive.

As always - in competition doesn't always win best work. It's absolutely normal. Sometimes easiest pixel which looks amazing knocks down work which creation took hours and days.

Anyway, don't take it personal. I just wanted to create some discussion about possible revolution in weekly challenges. Only a thought...

PJ rules

This wip started out with the usual technique of arbitrary blobs, as you can probably tell by the 2 currently unformed foreground figures. I might not finish this on time though.

The challenges aren't chosen by winners if I'm correct. Members submit their ideas and they decide.

I misspoke earlier. Because some are coordinate XY challenged the 'landscape/horizontal' was added to the rules of the member who sent this is and sadly went unrecorded.
WHOMEVER SENT THIS IN PLEASE REVEAL YOURSELF (maybe Metaru or Reo).
