Alrighty thanks Lar. I fixed it and shaded some stuff.

Did you try other solutions for the transparency of the wings.
The left especially stands out and doesn't quite read 'see-through'.
Maybe ramping one color down as much as possible ?

Oh that works way better, indeed.
More c+c... The veins in the wings are missing altogether. I thick adding opaque veins would really help. Like thick at the neck and thinning as they get further from the head. Once they are the thinnest then that thickness coming down, like bats have.
Look at the eyes too, four yellow pixels are reading big or too close. Maybe add the next darker yellow on the top, dunno here.

Adam: Love the fallen knight concept.  Even the horse seems to have a 'You moron...' look on it's face.

update: this is quite the challenge on a personal level hehe

Is that a hobbit? If so, the feet need to be big and hairy :P And the arms thicker. Short races are usually very stout.

I honestly had no idea it was a carpet until you said it was. :P I think it's because the background seems to lack depth to me. Really, I thought it was a random kind of background ala Earthbound. I think you can fix that by making the carpet look less random.

This is my first chance to get online since the challenge was posted. >3< I think... I may actually try to take part this time, rather than lurking in the shadows. Maybe /saying/ that I plan to will shame me into making sure i work on it!

I adore these palettes, and and subject matter. Even if I know nothing about what I'm doing, at least it'll be fun. 8D

Hehe, it's interesting to read/see how everyone is struggling with different issues.

And yeah, these pallettes are challenging to work with, I often wished there was an extra dark and an extra bright tone in it when I tried to shade mine.

So, I spent some more time on mine, fixing the issues that I got in the comments when I submitted it prematurely:

@Aleiav: there is something weird with her arms, the upper arm looks unaturaly bent, maybe you could shorten the grey line?

I think I chose a bad style for this particular pallet; ah well...

I was going for something similar to FF6 or Bahamut Lagoon.

more work on it. having troubles with the right (his left) leg and arm. probably will just be tweaking this until i submit it.

You're right, Skull. Lots and lots of fantastic entries this week. 7even should be proud of all the new people who got enticed into taking part, as well.

Setzer. Ugh. i LOVE the definition on his body, and the flow of his pants. Everything looks quite nice. The background style also does quite a bit to help the character stand out.
