Hi! I'm Kris, 17 yo - registered here because I wanted to get in better touch with the world of pixel-art and pixelartists. I've been creating graphics for a project that's still in progress, and also practicing my pixelart by frankenspriting and editing sprites of an oldschool MMORPG called Tibia for my own private-server.

I'm looking forward to improve, collaborate, and join more projects after I finish my current ones. I'd really like to make a career in designing graphics for games. Except pixelart, I also do a lot of other design, like album covers or game title screens/logos.

Here's some of my recent work, still working on the pond tileset though!

I go by many names. Lord_Lucien, Bcadren, Male Gardevoir, pixelicdarkmatter...I'm a general artist, have a heavier lean towards photography, 3D modeling and Tech art (renderer and animation programming); and a general game and applications programmer and designer. Never made pixel art that wasn't current pokemon style and save literally my single newest piece; I think all of that I've done in this field is terrible. Here for multiple reasons including improving my own pixel art; looking for insight on some applications projects I'm working on.

Greetings pixel members of the Joint.

I've been a native of places such as Pixelation and TSR for quite a few years back. For some reason (I suspect lazyness), I never took the time to register and come here and partake on the beautiful site and souls that inhabit it..

Well, now I do.

HELLO GUYS

*waves* Hello PixelJoint :D

I've been doing pixel art for some years now, but never really serious and I am very, very far from being even anywhere near the level of most people here, haha. I first learned about pixel art on an adoptables website called Dragoncave. The dragons on there are all pixel sprites and when I wanted to make some of my own, I had to start learning, haha. I learned a lot over there, but I feel I've got much more to learn than the community there can offer me, and I suspect PixelJoint can help me in my quest for pixel knowledge, haha. I've already been stalking here a bit and learned a bit about antialiasing (completely new to me - at least in spriting), so that's a good start!

Anyway... besides pixelart I also do 'normal' digital art. Still have a lot to improve on there as well, haha. But I keep practicing and learning and slowly improving :)

Oh, I also pixelate. Sometimes. Used to do it more, trying to get more into it.

Hi everybody! My name's Karissa and I'm new to pixel joint! I just joined yesterday, but have been lurking/browsing the website for about a week now. This seems like such a welcoming community, I wanted to be a part of it.

I think pixel art is absolutely stunning. I've seen some of the artists on here and I was blown away n.n ; My love of side scrollers and platformers has given me a desire to attempt creating some sprites of my own!

Anyway, I look forward to learning about the world of pixel art and meetin' and greetin' new friends along the way!

Call me Ryan.

I'm a university student at Nevada State in Las Vegas, formerly from California.

By day I'm an enigmatic, aloof, easily distracted african-american male who enjoys both classical music (of the baroque era) and dubstep amongst other things with an addiction to cheese (Especially Mozzarella).

By night however, I'm an asshole wannabe philosopher with great ambition for himself and his art work, who's quick to anger and even quicker to start spouting pretentious bullsh*t if given the opportunity.

I wouldn't say I'm a "bad" guy but I am a pragmatist. You do for me, I do for you. Golden rule and all that jazz.

I've lurked around pixel joint for a while, at least three years but I've only just registered a day ago with this being my second post here so far.

Above all else, I enjoy great artwork and this place has it in droves. I'd like to get to know most of you, but you'll find me wandering off from time to time. Hopefully I'll find my little niche in this place somewhere.

See you around folks.

Hey all. I'm an indie game dev who got tired of relying on unreliable artists and decided to learn and make his own art for his games, in the hopes of actually finishing some fun projects!

So, utter amateur here. Currently practicing making small-dimension pixel art with an accent on animations in particular, going through the tutorials I find and trying to grasp various aspects of pixel art. Hopefully one day I can make something in 16x16 a la Spelunky, that stuff still amazes me.

Hello everyone! People type my name as byth but they call me Sam.

Anyway, I'm a Junior at Wayne State University going into Education for English and Social Studies (and perhaps Biology). I'm a wannabe game maker and pixel artist, and so far I've released two games, both very similar. The newer one, which does not feature any proper pixel art that I drew, is Infinite Squid Slayer. I want to learn, and get good enough that my art can at least be useful on opengameart if not eventually to me.

Hi my name is Jan and I am from Sweden, Stockholm. I've join Pixel Joint because I want to start doing pixel art. My idéa is to make a HTML5 game and pixel art seems to be the "easiest" way to make good looking grafic for games. My biggest inspiration is the HTML5 game BrowserQuest, I want to make something similar but much bigger. But it's going to take a while because I don't know any html5 and pixel art, so looking forward to my challenges.

Otherwise I am makeing homepages and taking photographs.

Hi there! I'm Zoe, 21, French creative interested in all sorts of art forms (my main problem is that I can't seem to make up my mind on what to do or what medium to use :p The world of creation is too interesting!). I'm currently living in the nearby of Newcastle, in England, with my English/Canarian boyfriend and five doggies :) Cultural mix!

I love drawing, sculpting, graphic design (which is actually my job), gaming... I got into pixel art ages ago with pixel dolls on a French forum, and I didn't practice a lot since then. But I got recently an obsession for indie pixel-based games (for instance Legend of Dungeon, Sword&Sworcery or Starbound); and I figured that since I was bored, might as well be productive! And that's how I decided to join; you guys are awesome, so much talent here :D I'm sure to have a fun time watching all that great stuff :) See you around!

Hello Friends!

I have been participating on this sites challenges and developing a knowledge of pixel art. I have plans to use this fine art style in a book I have been working on for a couple years.

I hope to keep working and learning with you all.

Many Blessings!

long time lurker finally stepping out of the shadows ;)
Simon aka Seminus.

Currently I'm doing pixel art fulltime for our current game Halfway.
You can find details here if you like: Robotality

I hope to join some challenges in the future and have some cool discussions here. Even as my free time is limited atm. ;)

Here is some images from the work I'm doing on our game. (Johan Vinet is doing the characters and I do the rest.)

Hello, I'm Zukaro Travon.  I'm from Canada.  AND I LOVE FOXES! <3

Aaanyways, I'm 19 and I like to play around with computers a lot (I run a bunch of servers on Linux; currently I have Proxmox setup which is an OS designed so I can run multiple virtual servers on it, and one of the virtual servers is a Minecraft server; soon I'll be adding an ownCloud server as well as I had that going before but I had to format the hard drive since I lacked another one).

Anyways, I started doing pixel art December 13th 2011 (going by my first ever pixel art drawing which I posted to deviantART).  The stuff I drew back then wasn't too bad, but I've improved quite a bit I think.

I've only played around with the app so far and it's great. However, I need read up some more on techniques before I began a piece.

Hello! I'm a relatively new pixel artist, though I have been doing traditional art for a long time. I have mostly haunted DeviantART (same username), and more recently Tumblr but came here to become integrated in a more pixel-oriented community and hopefully learn something to better my skill!

I got into pixel art because I enjoyed the style, and wanted to make 50x50 pixel icons and then later got into 'journal dolls', 150x150 usually single-character works to be used as headers and page buddies. Now I am hoping to increase my capacity to larger and more detailed works and to a wider range of subject, as of now I mostly do animals and person's OCs .

Hey Everyone!
I'm Phraktol, 28 year old graphic designer living in california. I've always had a fascination with Pixel art (Being a gamer from the NES/SNES era) and have always wanted to learn to do it, but never really found the drive until recently.

A friend and I are working on early stages of developing a large scale RPG that will mimic SNES style in many ways, and I figured the best way for me to get better at pixelling was to just jump right in and challenge myself.

I found the weekly challenges to be good motivation and will continue to enter them. I love collaboration also, so I have been trying to work on a piece for the ISO-dead people collab here on the forums.

Most of my graphic design relates to Logos, Flyers and the like. I work primarily with Electronic Music producers. feel free to have a look at my designs On my Facebook Page

I also produce electronic music (Dubstep, Drum and Bass, ect) Feel free to have a listen to my music here

So far I love the community here on PJ, and have found tons of useful resources and tutorials which have been very helpful in developing my skills thus far, and the way i see it, theres no where to go but up!

Thanks to the owners of the site, for providing a wonderful community experience and a nice place for newcomers to develop their abilities!

I have to say, visiting Pixel Joint is extremely humbling. There's SO much talented work to learn from around here. If there was ever a website worth studying as an artist, it's Pixel Joint. I dunno if I'll be an active community member but I do plan on submitting any new pixel stuff I make! Hopefully I can give simple critique to some of the non-demi-god spriters around here too. See you 'round.

Hi, I'm a pianist/composer by trade but I love making art too.  Decided to get better at pixel art since I'm really not good at it compared to regular digital art. I'll probably post either game-related stuff since that's fun to make or realism pieces using few colors.
