Guitar Hero might actually have been good if they had stuck with classic rock instead of the whole selfish emo nonsense. Honestly if all those emo's just killed themselves the genre would just die out literally. I'm not saying they should mind you, but the whole self-serving "pity party" thing has gotten out of hand. Get help or silently suffer and shut up.
Rock should be about good times and living on the edge not wallowing in self pity and trying to out depress other people.

Whoo, I just bought the first Half-Life and its expansion packs. I already had Half-Life: Source, but it's just not the same in a modern engine. This game looks best when played under a low resolution with unfiltered textures <3

So I bought Geometry Wars Galaxies a few days ago. Not the best arena shmup I've ever played. Still OK I guess but nothing fancy. 40 bucks is a bit steep for something I could create in about a month. If you want a free clone game for PC, try Grid Wars 2 which is a ripoff of the second game in the series.
Things I like
-Difficulty, it is hard
-Style, the lines are rendered nicely but the game lacks any color scheme
-Controls the nunchuck and wiimote work really nicely together here
-Multiple levels (especially the ones that have odd shapes and holes)
Things that pissed me off
-Music is nothing even remotely memorable
-Procedurally spawned enemies
-Scoring is terrible here you can take 10 minutes to get your score multiplier up and then if you die there is really no point in using your other lives. A time based multiplier would have been much better.
-Some levels are almost identical and most play exactly the same due to lack of scripted level design
-Particle effects can sometimes obscure your view there are many times where you will die and be left wondering what the hell hit you.
