Actually, I agree with you. I'm just used to the status queue. 

I'm guessing the forums are so slow due to all the flash ads. It takes longer to load the ads than it does to load the rest of the screen. 

I really need to install an ad blocker.

I've calmed down and decided to use that/this/the time to make a quick small environment as a warmer upper. Anyone have a good place to find some concepts that are legal to use?

Let me show you what I'm looking at:


Tests have shown that users tend to read the fastest on longer lines, up to 10
inches MAX, and preferred reading lines that are around 5 inches long. Currently
I'm looking at 21 inches of text.

Now my screen is rather big (28 inch) so its partially my fault but still it's
over twice as much as the maximum length(for optimal reading speed) and 4 times
as wide as what users prefer. and my screen is definitely not 4x as large as
the average.

Also, if you compare how common screens of 800x600 are, with screens that are
larger than 1024 you see that there are 10 'large' monitors for every 800x600.
I'm not saying ignore these, but PJ could definately use a pair of good old min-
and max-widths.

You could then have the site smoothly go from usable on a 640x480(yes, lower then
800x600 even) up to screens of 1200 pixels wide, and have the scaling stop there.
This would allow small screen visitors to see PJ with as little border and as much
content as possible, and large screen visitors to have decent line lengths.

You talk about making an own stylesheet. How does this work, do i have to use some
plugin in my browser to make it PJ different on my pc, or is there a way to upload
custom themes to PJ and give others access to it as well?

(slightly related note. i visit PC on my phone too and that works decently at 640x480)
(and yes. 28 inch. i crave those "Xtr4 !nch3z")
