| WIP #10 Still very rough. I'm slow I hate it. Thought that just ocean in background would be boring so added clouds or fog rolling in. Hope they feel somewhat ISO. Still need to figure out the highlights. Maybe extra lightsource within the clouds could add to spookiness. Also want to add "ghost sails" trying to figure something. | |

@drain; on #57: it's certainly going the right way. The face looks ok, it's the focal point of the tile. About the bricks, here's an example I made in a previous collab (it's in a smaller scale but can show the time effect on stones): I'll add the current version of your tile tomorrow but please don't give up improving it. on #8: in our scale a highschool locker should be much smaller. Of course I see you're making a "giant locker" but I don't really understand why a giant locker is cool :) @kappa; Eggy is right, the rocks look "top-down". A good example on how iso rocks can be made can be seen in this collab (on tiles 45 and 52, next to the giant skull). Well drawn rocks and ship debris will make a good tile. @axolotl; in your first WIP, the clouds are isometric. On your second WIP they aren't. I think when you make ghost sails, or normal worn sails, so many clouds won't be seen (they happen to be the same color with what a ghost sail should be). So sails and 1 or 2 characters will probably fill the tile. @pizzalated; will add your tile tomorrow. While your tile looks quite good as is, you may think of alternating the sizes and brightnesses of candle-lights.

The sizes and height of the candles are already different, but I will vary them even further. Also, is someone making a Spongebob reference? Because I wanna be that guy, NO ONE WILL BE ABLE TO STOP ME.

WIP for #50. So that the dark side would not overcome, I will raise the fortress on this island to keep order and bring peace. The British flag will hoist above waking eyes of the red-coats and the righteous cannons will guard its coasts. Very rough WIP for next mini collab.

 @Irenaart
I really like the idea of a fortress but the face would seem really out of place if it wasn't an old labyrinth style dungeon. It would be really weird for a normal everyday British fortress to have a face that's going 8O go for what you want to do nonetheless tho haha

The head is engraved in the rock and the fortress is raised around this rock. It's not uncommon. And the head is anyway like from the Aztec period.

Not at all. Edit: Actually I thought if it's bigger some character interactions may fit in, but not sure, you gotta try and see and if it has to be super huge, leave the size as it is.

I could make only a corner (without upper shadows) so that other tiles can determine how large the fort will be. It might be interesting to have some sort of battle going on in the fort. Thank you Geci for a great idea!

Any advices? I feel like there's too many single pixels floating and got some issues with light on draft.

First off the raft isn't isometric.
The sail can be as it is now but the body should be isometric. The rest is ok but some bright ripples may use some antialiasing.

Gonna call this done for the time being unless anyone sees any necessary changes, or just has any ideas for it. Might also update it when the surrounding tiles get done. Also, since there's not much of the roof on my tile, I'll change it to fit the neighboring tiles. I'll check back for updates, and to take another tile after this one gets the okay.

@Curious: Your characters need to be tweaked a bit since they aren't in ISO perspective right now. Nice work everyone! Here's my own crappy WIP of #7 to keep my reservation alive. The captain always goes down with the ship

As Pyro noted your women are a little too small and out of perspective but a more important issue is the lack of roof or whatever is above. I'll put it on the main image like this, but if it stays like this someone will try to continue that emptiness... Please try to update it as soon as you can, maybe Jalonso's piece can give you an idea. @Sonata; sure. @Minord; going very good but that person is too small for our scale. Also you cut my roof too short :( Going to finish my tile asap and put up a simple sketch to help you out. @Drazile; Don't you think the sea is too empty? Maybe one or two rocks in it may gain it some movement.

@Sonata242: The crow's nest-ey thing at the top isn't an iso circle. Jack's coat bottom and orange headband are similarly not the approximately-a-circle they should be. As a result, both look really flat, like they're a cardboard cutout that's been positioned in iso, rather than round objects in iso.

Thank you Pyro. @Geciman I agree on the women being non-isometric, but I didn't think they were to small.. They seemed properly sized compared to characters in the image, and I was trying to help convey them as women, by making them short. I'll redo them to iso-view though. Should actually help get a bit more detail by upsizing a bit too. That aside, I'll make sure to have an update to the roof before the day is out. Thanks for the reference, and also thanks in advance to Jalonso for the influence! Btw, that image by Jalonso would probably help a lot of people with this collab since it matches the theme. Would link back to it in this post, but I don't know forum commands well. :P

Excellent, thanks. I'm thinking of extending the shaman scene underneath my tile with spiked skulls and going full ham with the vines. Perhaps turning the cave into a prison.
It's literally just a 20 min sketch I did at lunchtime after getting a reminder about my tile. Wanted to establish the space before someone took more surrounding tiles :p

I have some feedbacks: 1- The shape of the circle is still not iso, circles don't bend to perspective, since they are circles :) An iso circle on the ground is a normal circle with 50% height. Like this: 2- Overall antialiasing. Your black crisp lines can use a little softening. Again you can check my example. 3- Johnny Depp is flying. :)

You didn't need to remove the characters, they aren't too out of place. I suggest you to put them again until you make new ones. About wood texture, depends on what you want. For some hard wood, you can use more colors like:

@Gecimen Much appreciation! I'll try that and update later. Here's the updates tile with characters. I think I'll keep the blonde as is, aside from making her a little bigger. I think it'll make a funny joke when keik's tile is in. I do plan on changing the red-head though. *edit forgot the shadows
