Something was brought up in one of the comments for a challenge piece.

Will you guys be voting for the most original and best looking one, regardless if it obviously NOT Pokemon style, or will you be voting for the best piece that immitates the style AND is original and well made?

For example Gas13's
Very well made, awesome idea, but IMO it's too detailed to be Pokemon Style - most obvious being the textured fur, there are many furry Pokemon but none of their sprites show any obvious signs of texture.

Sorry if I'm out of line bringing this up, but what do you say?

ddr, that's a good point you are bringing up.

I will be voting for the ones that match the pokemon style best, both technique wise and idea wise.

 

So I won't vote for the ones that are overdetailed. Or for the ones that are no real pokemon. (like the humans) 

a progress shot... I think its going pretty well. I really have only blocked in the details for the second one, aside from his face which is mostly done. My main concern is whether the eyes look suitable to a pokemon game. Also my naming is crud right now, hopefully i will pick up.

Personally I will be voting for the ones I enjoy in the area of ideas, concept and design, regardless of whether they are done in "pokemon" style or not.

One of my votes will be for the best in pokemon style.  The other two votes I'm reserving for great ideas.  So it's ok to go outside the style a bit as long as you have a good design.  You might not get 1st place though.

Wow that looks great Krysis the only thing i would question is black outlines are missing. As is typical of pokemon style though if you don't want that completely up to you.

Started with the middle evolution. Working with the egg shell it will return in evolution 1&3.

I'm going to vote according to best looking in the pokemon style, because it is create a pokemon, not create a PA and call it a pokemon. :)

I would think it's because the last evo has lots of blank space, the first and second look more cluttered(in a good way). Another thing could be that the 1st and 2nd are tilted slightly /, but the last is completely straight up |. Could be both I guess.

and the third evolution of the boiler stovey things needs smoke :) like the little baby ones, only it should be ANGRY  smoke :P oh and maybe some lines around the stack like the 2nd 1 :)

@drr, Idea is key but for me there are certain pixel techniques that all Pokemon have and that will determine who I vote for. Cept the Mac above cuz...ya know...I'm a mac victim :D

Ok well this is what I've got so far...



ignore the last evo for now...and the second one is sorta-kinda-nearly-almost complete...and I feel the first one is more or less finished. I hope I get this done, there's the slight chance that this wont get fully completed...or the last 2 will end up a bit rushed...i hope this isn't going to happen but I have an exam coming up on tuesday and that's probably a bit more important...

If I don't get this finished at least I have a light bulb with a face that i'm pretty proud of

The middle one looks wierd small. I would make it bigger.
Usually pokemon dont shrink as they evolve.
