Unless anyone sees anymore things that could be improved, I think I'll call this one done for now.

The outline of the blonde's bottle is a bit dark for its background. I'd recommend lightening it up, but that's a minor suggestion. I really love your characters! They're so full of... well, character! Really well plotted. My last update for today here: ![]()
May add more when I'm feeling inspired, but I don't want to overcrowd it. I tried putting a few statues into the alcoves but I couldn't draw up anything without it looking glaringly odd. |

Sorry guys I'ma relinquish my claim to #32, I didn't realize until today that I overlapped the large ship area. I'll probably go for another tile once a few more coast tiles come into play :)

@Adarias: Noted, dropped your reservation for now. Please do come back a bit later and contribute!
@Curious: Made some suggested edits to make your woman on the left more ISO. Notice the arm, bottle, and eye placement changes. The left woman could also use darker outlining in places to help contrast with the background, IMHO. Keep up the good progress ![]() |

@Polyducks
Thank you! You could go for glaringly odd. This whole collab is a bit strange lol. Nice work though. @Pyrometal I left her like that because I want her to seem to be offering food to the guy on the raft in keik's tile, as a joke that he's a castaway going after mermaids instead of food. Changing it to "proper" isometric makes it seem like she's offering it to the mermaid. I'll change it if you think it's necessary though. ![]() Where on her did you suggest darkening the outline on? Or just in general? Also a few minor updates. The bottle became a pitcher somehow, but I like it lol. ![]() |

Ah noted, makes more sense in context! For the outline, mostly the hair is the problem. The purple doesn't help the contrast against the building, so I would suggest you use one of the darker options available.

@Gecimen
so i made a few tweeks you mentioned :-) 1. completely remade that top part of ship (don't know how its called in english) 2. i try to soften my black lines as much as i can, but i dont want to rid of them all :-P 3. Johnny Depp is standing now :-D >>>>
don't know if i'm capable of doing this better than it is now :-D |

Guys, I'm a bit concerned at the difference in scales between the two ships. I suggest we add something to the tiles below the top right ship to make it seem more distant - like cliffs or something with someone looking out to sea.
I really love the artwork in both - so I don't want to suggest removing either! EDIT: looking at it now though, I think the one on the top left might be outsized based on the size of the skull. |

There is no distance variation in isometic.
With a set scale, we are trying to keep the whole thing in a certain degree in harmony but we aren't trying to make it super realistic. What we want to prevent is this: ![]() Just look at the people. They are caricaturistic. Big heads short height. The whole thing is supposed to be that way; so we can depict both big stuff like houses and ships, and characters together in the same image. On top of that, the scale of the two ships are actually very similar (both are smaller than real), remember there are countless ship sizes. |

Geci basically explained most of it, but let me explain further. There's a consensus that there are two types of illustration. 'Perspective' and 'Orthographic', Isometry falls on the latter. Ortho is greek for straight or upright, and graphic, which comes from graphos, means illustration. In perspective illustration, the forms and figures gradually disappear to a point called the "vanishing point(s)". In orthographic illustration, there are no vanishing points, and the forms and figures retain consistent size. It doesn't matter how far you are from the object. as of tile #8, i've been busy these past few days and haven't had time to do it, but i will finish the davy jones locker |

Ah okay, thanks guys!
Was just comparing the door heights to the character heights to arrive at my conclusion. Is it too early to pick up another tile? |

No it's not too early, you can pick another.
For hint, if I have colored your tile number red, that means your tile can stay with its current state in the collab and you can say it's done. |

Tried to make ghost sails idea a bit more readable. Not too strict on lighting rule for that (ghost sails aren't really there, you know) Also want neighbors to understand where I'm going with this.Clouds will need a bit more attention. It's starting to get there. |

Done initial work on tile 74. Included in overview is the human-size reference image. I think I've scaled it right.
Does anyone have any problems with the slightly-mature content? I couldn't find anything in the rules against. Otherwise I can cover them in bikinis. It'll make sense as to why I've drawn them like this when I draw the occupant of the third towel. |

I'm going to guess it's a Binding of Isaac reference. It's the icon for Brimstone, which is one of the best items in the game.

Actually, that symbol's been around for a good while (not sure since when though?) so it can't be a reference to the game. I mean I once watched an old Scooby Doo episode about witches (I think it was called "Which witch is which?") and I saw that symbol engraved on the grave of a supposed malicious witch that was buried there. From a quick search it's called the Leviathan Cross and is known as a symbol from satanism. As fir my tile, no new WIPs yet! I've gotten a little caught up in other things but I'll try to get a WIP soon |

Thanks Geci! Some say if you can solve the puzzle of this ancient totem you will find Blackbeard's treasure!
Collab is going great so far!I Really like your tiles Pizzalated & Polyducks! @Drain: Maybe you could put some moss on the face as well? It is looking a bit detached from the rest of the structure. But I love the bricks and the color use! I would like to grab 60! |

Why does the British fort have a human faced door? Oooh maybe it's a re-purposed temple! Love the cannonball holes! I'd love to take a panel here and add a roof or two to break up the open space. Panel #74 gets an update, giving someone below and to the side something to work with.

Also, and let me know if this is over-ambitious, I think we could make it more like a pirate treasure map if we added a large compass to a corner in any of these positions:
*snip* (excuse the super rough circle using the shape-drawing tools) I figure each artist could really make each quarter their own. I'm aware the compass isn't isometric, but that's purposeful to make it appear as a treasure map. If the idea isn't vetoed, could I take tile #84, #90 or #97? |

@polyducks; we will soon have another map type non-iso collab going on which will feature a compass. As for the iso collabs; the rules are pretty strict, so I'll ask you to avoid such noniso and out of scale stuff. No harm in asking though :)
