Good start. you can do whatever you want with the wall, break it, raise it, end it, bend it, turn it into something else......

WIP 1 on #66. Started a reference background to help me with the details. Gonna add characters and more details, but that's what I got so far.

Good for a start!
Before diving into details further, try to determine what you want for the background. So that you can blend the foreground items with it. |

The wall is going quite good actually
![]() ![]() I'm not sure I understood correctly but you can't keep the background as it is in the finished piece. Whatever you do, you have to give your future neighbours something to continue with... Plain green doesn't do it. Think larger than your tile and you'll come up with something eventually. If you're considering to keep that place as water, make ripples, waves or reflection to make it apparent. Edited by Gecimen - 22 January 2014 at 8:33am |

Oh yeah, yeah. I was planning on modifying the green water part. I misused the word "background"... was talking about the actual wall xD
But yeah, weird stuff is gonna happen to this pool of water :D Edited by Kaishido - 22 January 2014 at 9:08pm |

@Shadowdrake; going nice. The worm's shape is a little off but I think it can be easily fixed. |

May I reserve tile #51? Might do something with it... Planning something along the lines of an alley thing and a creature in it...
EDIT: I wrote #5 instead of #51. Darn.

Thanks :)
WIP ![]() Gosh... this seems to be challenging, so it's probably good for me. I think I'm having trouble at arch readability (it doesn't look right to me for some reason but maybe it's just me) and a few outlining pixels on it look a little off to me... Anyways, I kept the neighboring tile and I drew two lines in order to help myself maintain the isometric perspective (I've never made isometric pixel art, except a simple cube once if it counts) and try to make my tile match with the neighboring tile as much as possible. The brown/purple part of the green liquid stuff below the arch is meant to read as shadow, but I guess it can read as blood too. And I'm planning on putting a creature there (and probably some gore) or at least something that would make my tile properly fit into the horror theme. EDIT: ![]() Turns out I failed to read the water reflection, so the position of my tile was off. Fixed. Did little changes to the arch (although it still looks a little off to me), and decided to make the brown/purple stuff read as blood. Edited by Eggy - 24 March 2014 at 12:10pm |

There's no perspective in ISO, so the arch is a little off (not too much) check the top half of my circular window. The fact that the outer bricks of the arch are getting smaller makes it look like it's in fish eye perspective, while there shouldn't be any sort of perspective.

I guess I misunderstood the theory/law/whatever of isometrics. I only ever make non-isometric stuff so I'm used to perspective stuff XD Thank you for clearing it up for me.
More WIP ![]() How's this? When I looked at your arch, I got the idea of how should an arch look like in pixel art, so I used your arch as a reference to fix my arch, if that's fine. :) |

![]() Sorry for the holdup. I got distracted by other stuff and forgot about my ISO tile. I hope I got it right this time. I haven't really made isometric pixel art before, so this stuff is kinda hard for me... any tips (apart from looking at tutorials) on how can I improve? |

First off to make it ISO, the line over the waterfall should be like this (see red line):
![]() Something coming out of the dark is good. Just be sure to make it scary rather than cute :) For example zombies? A skeletal monster? A tentacle thingie? Edited by Gecimen - 21 April 2014 at 6:38am |

Sorry for inactivity, but I just came to say that I‘d like to drop my piece and let someone else take the tile. I got caught up by other things (mostly RL and Minecraft) and don‘t have much motivation for pixel art right now (although I plan to enter the current weekly), so it‘s better for me to let someone else have the tile rather than have it and then forget to work on it.
