i figured i would try to get the hardest part right before moving on, and thats the hair. trying use a different lightsource from my normal above-and-infront-of-the-head one. its meant to be coming from the top-right.
i like the left side but im having trouble with the right, where the light hits. im also trying to keep my colour counts down too, currently this one is at 11 but obviously that will go up.
any suggestions or cc would be loved, ta |

I'm no hair expert, but I like trying. It's hard to explain so here's an edit.
![]() I did up the contrast a bit with a highlight color from the body and used the darker red for where the hair parts.

today's version.
edit 8/4/10:
made the base sprite taller, so she now has a neck. i was really against it before but it looks better this way. still not 100% sure on the hair, mainly whether or not i should put in highlights or keep it fairly cell-shaded ish. Edited by meagz - 07 April 2010 at 6:39pm |
