Wow, it's been a while since I've posted here! Where to start...
Okay, well first I'll start out by saying I have started a Minecraft texture pack. For those that don't know about Minecraft I suggest looking into it. It can be customized via editing the textures and replacing them. However, this thread isn't to advertise my texture pack, but it has a lot to do with why I'm making it. In Minecraft along with the world textures, there are textures for paintings that you can decorate with.
So here's where you guys come in. I decided for the paintings I would pick out some of my favorite, or some of what I think are beautiful pieces, and use them as paintings. Since all the art came from here, I thought it'd be fair to post and let everyone know. I'd try get permission but I don't think some of the artists are even active. What I'm going to do alternatively is try to tag everything in the image with the artist's name, as well as add a text file with due credit to all the artists.
As for the art itself... well, the constraints I was working with was quite smaller than I had originally hoped. Sadly most of the art is cropped down and probably not even recognizable to their actual pieces. For example, some of the smallest images are just crops of mountains from much larger images... and in fact don't represent anything the original piece was about. However I'm including the links so perhaps people interested will go and check out the amazing art for themselves. The process from choosing the art was more about memory. Most of them I instantly recalled as I browsed and tried to add them. Some of my favorites had to be omitted though due to me thinking they lost too much in the cropping("A clew!" :(), but that doesn't mean those who are there are just second-best. There are hundreds of amazing pieces out there, and choosing came down to first-come mostly. As I browsed, if I saw a piece I thought had potential when cropped down it most likely went in.
On to the art! The image and credits(from left to right):

off-topic edit grr's: you guys should really convert links automatically. Having to go through manually with all those links was a pain. Also, forum settings don't work, just takes me to the main page. Lastly, pixeljoint is running horribly today! What a day to decide to browse through at least a hundred pictures!

I am so using that texture pack in minecraft!
I'm running in the desert,
running in to the sun,
running out of blood
and I'm going numb.
