be careful not to overuse black outlining, especially if the rest of your palette is relatively bright. it tends to flatten the image. instead, worry more about conveying volumes using shadows and highlights, according to a specific light source.

To add on to what cure said, the colors don't have an eye-catching pop that makes somebody just want to stare at it, if you know what I mean. Use more colors like in this image one of my favorite artists, Priok, made:
The colors in this pop out a lot more. Try adjusting your palette, then do what cure said and get rid of the black outline. Hope this helps. |

what about the first one? just hoping this thread doesn't turn into one
where the artist jumps around all the time and we never see any of the
various works get any stronger.
that being said, new one looks much better. my only crit is to use more contrast in some areas. the highlights in the purple could be brighter, and the black parts are all too dark. there also seem to be a zillion colors, so... work on that. will be much easier to manage your palette if you are conservative with your colors. |

Also it's using over 400 colours somehow. Did you use any "dirty" tools? Like partial opacities, automatic AA, etc?

please tell me you didn't convert this from a .JPEG did you? if you use so many colors it's a lot more difficult for use to edit/show you ideas for changes -_- I agree with cure about contrast in colours. but cannot suggest changes for your pallet since it is currently +256 colours

ewout, is that a pokemon fusion? If so, I don't think those are allowed.
If not, please don't take offense. |
