Alternate Reality Studios

We are not a registered company at the moment. I plan to register Alternate Reality Studios as an LLC once we begin to sell a product.

Project name:
Cursed (modifications to project name are still up in the air as this is a pretty generic name)

Brief description:
The project 'Cursed' will be a 2D side scrolling game. It will have an action/adventure theme set in a fantasy environment. The project will use the Torque 2D Game Engine which has already been purchased. This project has been in development for 2 weeks now, as I have been tweaking with the gameplay in Torque.

Target aim:
Our aim is to sell a complete, quality, and most importantly, fun product. I plan to try and find a publisher once the product is complete. Until then, the product will be sold through our website online.

Compensation:
There will be no intial compensation. When the product is sold, 25% revenue will go the company in order to pay for expenses and cash assets. The other 75% of revenue will be split evenly among team members.


Technology:
Target system for the product is Windows and Linux.
Programming language is C++ using the Torque 2D Game Engine.
Artists can use whatever tools necessary to create professional looking graphics in .PNG format.
Sound and music tools can be anything that can produce and .OGG and .MP3 file. I have no experience with sound tools so I'm not sure of the options. I'm sure composers would know better than I.


Talent needed:
I'm looking for 1-3 graphic artists who can draw professional looking graphics for this project. I am also looking for one music and sound effect composer who can deliver needed music and sound effects.

When inquiring about a position please accompany it with an example of your work.

Team structure:
Currently, I am the only person on the team. I am taking the responsibility of Lead Programmer, Lead Game Designer, Level Editor, Marketing, and Web Site Coordinator.

Other members will contribute in all areas of the design, marketing, and web site if skills are applicable.

Additional Info:
As of right now, the only thing set in stone is that we will use the Torque 2D Game Engine for development. This to speed along the development process. In my opinion there is no need to reinvent the wheel, especially if there is already a halfway decent one available.

I am willing to front money to purchase any tools/utilities necessary to finish this project, so I am serious about putting a team together than can finish a solid product. I have a Design Document available to all team members upon joining. It is also still a WIP and will be updated as we solidify game design decisions as a team.
