Hello, I'm a newbie at Pixel Art and this is my first piece of art work. Any who I am making a rook chest piece, but I am having trouble giving the 3D effect of the rook. I'm using 'GraphicGale Free edition'. I was wondering if you guys could help me out at what changes should I make to give the effect, or a Tutorial on how to do 3D effects, or even a program.
I'm not coloring until I get the Outline of the Image finish however. The image is 30x30 because It's my first one so sorry if it is small, you can always Save it and Open it to your Pixel art program and Expand it. My First Pixel Art... Rook Thanks :) Edited by Ancharius - 20 March 2012 at 5:30pm |

I think this topic helps...
http://www.natomic.com/hosted/marks/mpat/shading.html I assume you already know it though, since you are using GraphicGale, which is mentioned on the tutorial. The trick is shading, shading is what gives depth to the objects. Good luck. Edited by Davichococat - 21 March 2012 at 4:36pm |
