Hey all. Dash Speaking!

I've come here to seek help with an online 8-Bit RPG I've been working on for the past 15 months (so this IS a VERY Serious Project). The Core and most features of the RPG are all done, and now we're ready to put in "DTG World", an MMORPG-like world but all set in 2D Pixel Art form!

Here's what we're looking for:
- People who can make tilesets with as low as 64, 32 or even 16 colors.
- People who can make tilesets similar to: GBA Pokemon Games, SNES Zelda (you get the idea, it's the heads down without any side angles views)
- People who are creative and can have imaginative view of POST APOCALYPTIC sceneries.

What DTG is:
- DTG Is an online 2D 8-bit-like "Old School" feel MMORPG where 5 classes fight in domination of the world after a Post Apocalyptic War.
- DTG Is PHP, Flash and MySQL Based.

Constraints, what we need: *These constraints are just a general idea of what we're looking for, feel free to ask questions*
- We need to make a tileset that will be able our level designers to create planes (as in, "levels") that will be 512 by 384 pixels MAX.
- We need about 10 different tilesets (Prosperous City, Normal City, Destroyed City, Sewers, Subway, Forest, Docks, Robot Factory, Radiation Area, Building Interior).
- Each tileset will have at least 50 to 100 different types of tiles, and that includes variations.
- The setting of the game is very dramatic, but the amount of detail is not to be exagerated. We don't care about that 2 pixel scratch on the car.
- The tilesets must easily be recolored by anyone, so not too many details again
- To see how the game feels: http://www.daretogame.com , feel free to subscribe and fight a few monsters.
- We absolutely need a Pokemon/Zelda-like point of view.

What we ALREADY HAVE:
- We have a few pixel artists, but they do not work well on tilesets, they make characters, monsters, etc.
- We are aware that the fighting scene is DIFFERENT. so DO NOT BASE YOURSELF ON IT!
- We already have Big and Smaller versions of the players that will be walking around the world made with the tileset, here's some of them:
(male cyborg)
(male human)
(male mutant)

Why we do this:
- I figured that there are a lot of MMORPG's/RPG's on browsers nowadays and I saw that almost ALL of them were medieval, which kinda upsets me, not being a fan of medieval themes, I decided to put my experience in Flash and PHP Coding to create a unique RPG where players could fight something else than goblins and black knights.
- Also, DTG is planned to be a very much evolving game, We're in the final beta stage and we still add stuff and features that some of our beta testers want in the game! This means players will have a big word into how the game will look like, and everytime they login they can expect to see new features, monsters, items.
- Of course, DTG will FOREVER be 100% Free.

What We have to OFFER:
- I know people here are interested in offers because some people have a budget. WE DO INTEND to PAY anyone that makes a good job, BUT:
- We're not rich bastards, so don't be prepared for enormous pays. Our budget is pretty much limited, but we do pay the kind people that will help us with this project.
- And If YOU CAN help us FOR FREE, It would be VERY Appreciated and we will gladly see what we can do to help you back, whether it be with free hosting on our part or something of the like!
- Be aware that this game is in final Beta stage, this means we're currently forking our personal money into this to try to make it successful.
- In shorter terms: Yes, we will pay people that show us amazing work, and we will not ripoff anyone, but we are not rich, nor do we have a big budget so PLEASE understand that before venturing into making tilesets with us expecting to make 100's of $. We pay via paypal, nothing else.
- *BUT! There is amazing news here* Since we rely on advertising to pay our hosting and also from our own money, we are planning on making DTG -very- popular (and the plan is already about to start). We WILL be needing you (or anyone that accepts to help us) in the future. So basically, we will be asking people that helped us with these tilesets to eventually do MORE and pay them more (or if you're warm of heart, help us for free again) as DTG evolves!

This is pretty much it. I hope I peaked some people's interests. Again, everybody that works on DTG does it for free, we are quite desperate finding a tileset artist, it's holding back the release of our free rpg, so if anyone kind enough and talented enough can help us, please step forward! We'd also like to see some work you've done, as it may help us pinpoint who really is fit for the job, but if you're willing to help us for free and are looking for some advantages in our soon-to-be big community, you're ALWAYS welcome!

Let me rephrase:

Basically, the project right now is on a very tight budget (aka my own pocket). This said, I can guarantee you that the website or the project will not be going down anytime soon.

So, if anyone is up to help us for free now, they can expect (if their work was good) to be asked again in the future when the site gets bigger, and we will pay them.

Let's say you make a few graphics here and there for free, and we like them very much. In another update, we'll be needing more, and when the time comes, we will solicitate artists who have helped us first with offers rather than finding another team of artists to pay for their work. As this project can get substantially serious and big, this could mean to be quite an advantage.

Still looking/hiring.

I'd also like to precise that DTG isn't a half-assed project, its been in serious development for now over 18 months.
